Tips for Enjoying Magic Kingdom Rides
The Lightning Lane is not always worth it.
Rainfall in Florida can happen every day depending on the season, so take a raincoat.

In addition to the rains, another climatic factor that can disturb you a lot is the heat. Even more so if you go outside of winter, you can be sure that you will feel hot in the park.
In order to soften the heat, we recommend that you take a Cooling Towel. Just wet it, it will be cold and will help immensely to be less uncomfortable in the heat.
If you want to save money, avoid eating at the park's restaurants, we recommend that you take snacks in your backpack.
Another element that can make you spend a lot of money is buying water or soda around the park.
Therefore, we recommend taking a thermal cup and fill in the water fountains around the park.
Now let's check out each of the Magic Kingdom Rides & Attractions.
In this list we will consider shows and parades as Magic Kingdom attractions.
Check out the park map with the location of each of the attractions to help you locate your favorite attractions.
As the Magic Kingdom is a very large park, we will talk about each attraction divided by park areas.
Main Street USA
Inspired by the main street of the city where Walt Disney grew up, the Main Street it is the first area of the park as soon as you enter.
This main street will take you directly to the Castle of Cinderella, the greatest symbol of this park.
It's not a land with many rides.
Walt Disney World Railroad
This attraction is a train that passes through different areas of the Magic Kingdom.
It's not a super awesome or thrilling attraction.
It is more worthwhile for young children or for those people who, like Walt Disney, like Trains.

Happily ever After
In my opinion, the best fireworks show in the world!
The Happily Ever After is the fireworks show that replaced Wishes.

Unfortunately, the show was paused in 2021 to make way for the show in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom (Disney Enchantment).
Happily Ever After will return in October 2023.
Disney Enchantment – 50th Anniversary Fire Show
As mentioned above, this is the current closing show at Magic Kingdom.
In my humble opinion, it's not as amazing a show as its predecessors.

However, if you've never seen any Magic Kingdom closing shows, we recommend that you do.
Good news is that you can also watch this show from outside the park, including here on the blog we have a list of best places to see the Fireworks show outside the Magic Kingdom
Festival of Fantasy Parade
This is one of magic kingdom parades.
It's one of the best shows in the park and a must-see especially if you've never seen it.

At this stop it is possible to see Mickey Mouse and several famous characters from the disney movies.
In addition to the characters, the floats also call are very amazing to look at.

If you want to see Disney characters up close, this is one of the best options in all Disney parks.
Disney's Royal Friendship Faire
The newest Cinderella Castle daytime show at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, which debuted on summer of 2021.

It is very similar to the previous shows that took place on the castle stage.
The story here is a little confusing, but in it you can see several Disney characters singing and dancing in front of the Castle!
This show takes place several times a day.

Fantasyland
This is the largest of the Magic Kingdom areas.
The Fantasyland is the place where you can meet and take pictures with various princesses like Cinderella, Belle, Rapunzel, Merida and more.
Here you will also find a number of amazing attractions and restaurants such as the famous Cinderella's Royal Table it's the Be Our Guest.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is one of the newest attractions at the Magic Kingdom and is still one of the most popular attractions in all of Walt Disney World.

It is a children's roller coaster that has a minimum height requirement of 97 cm (38″).
Despite being a roller coaster, it is very smooth and enjoyable even for children.
As it gets very crowded, we recommend buying the Lightning Lane to avoid wasting too much time in line.
Another alternative to queue up less is to go straight to it when entering the park in the morning or wait to do it right before the park closes.

Although the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train has a photo on the attraction as shown above, Disney allows you to film during this roller coaster.
We always film and post on our youtube channel.
To film on these roller coasters, we recommend that you bring a GoPro for being small, easy to carry and with excellent quality.
Mickey's PhilharMagic
If you like Disney movies, you will surely love Mickey's PhilharMagic.
In this ride, the main character is the Donald Duck who makes his mess and ends up walking through several Disney movies such as Lion King, Little Mermaid and many others.
It is recommended for all ages! It's a motionless 3D theater and a lot of fun.

It's one of the rides I like the most, it's excellent for resting, enjoying a good movie, air conditioning.
It does not usually present very intense lines as many people enter the theater at once.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Dumbo the Flying Elephant is a classic old Disney ride in the shape of a flying carousel.
This ride is now part of the new Fantasyland, and there are two Dumbo spinners that have reduced the cooldown considerably that it used to have in the past.

It is worth mentioning that thanks to the new lighting and smaller queues, it is now a cool attraction to enjoy both day and night.
It's fun for visitors of all ages, but recommended more for groups with children.
It is not usually necessary to use the Genie+ for this attraction.
Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid
This ride of Little Mermaid The new Fantasyland is one of the most popular in the park, but it's not worth the long wait times for adults.

However, it is very valid for children or people who like the movie.
There are some cool cutscenes and the Animatronics are amazing to look at during the Under the Sea.
It is also worth mentioning that the queue is very cool.

Peter Pan's Flight
The Peter Pan flight it has some of the longest lines in the park.
In my opinion, it is not worth the waiting time that it usually presents.
So we strongly recommend using Genie+ or try to do it right at the park opening.

It's a classic attraction that takes guests on flying ships above London and Neverland.
But in my opinion it is a ride that is incredibly outdated.

That said, unless you have serious nostalgia for her or young children who might believe in this flight, there's a good chance this will be a disappointment to your group if you get really long lines.
Honestly the best part of this ride is the new interactive queue added last year, and that makes the wait slightly more bearable.
It's a small world
It's a Small World is the iconic attraction that characterizes the children of the world.
It is one of the oldest attractions in all of Walt Disney World.

In this ride you will take a boat and go through different parts of the world with many dolls dancing and singing.
The queue for this ride are usually long as it is very popular.
It can be a good ride for visitors of all ages and is a relaxing boat ride.

If you're in an adults-only group, it can be relatively boring.
Enchated Tales with Belle
An experience with characters from the movie Beauty and the Beast located in New Fantasyland.
Everyone will be impressed with the technology used in this ride, but only young children and their parents are likely to enjoy the actual experience.

In addition to a very personal encounter with Belle, she features 2 very realistic animatronics that are the Beast Castle wardrobe and Lumiere!
Consider doing it very early or later in the evening.
Mad tea party
A fun and iconic attraction, although there really is nothing more to this experience than a crazy cup where you control your own spin.

A classic Magic Kingdom ride that's been around for years.
Very nostalgic for a lot of people and can be really fun for kids.
The Barnstormer
Also known as the Goofy Rollercoaster.
We consider this an excellent attraction for being the first roller coaster for kids who have never ridden one.

Adult groups should avoid this attraction due to long waits and the ride itself only lasts a few seconds.
It has a minimum height requirement of 89 cm (35″).
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
A cute, dark ride, but there's a good chance kids will have more fun playing in the queue than on the actual ride.

This is a ride very popular, it's only worth waiting long lines for it if you have small children in your group.
We recommend that you try to ride it at the beginning or end of the day, when the lines are usually slightly shorter.
And of course, try to get her on Genie+.
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
An ordinary Carousel, but at Disney.

We recommend it only for those children and families who really like the carousel as there is nothing special about this ride.
At night, there are usually much shorter queues.
Tomorrowland
This land is dedicated to technologies and the future, 2 themes that Walt Disney always liked to address.
It is not a very large land, but it offers a number of incredible attractions for your day, in addition to being home to the largest Quick Service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom, the Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.
Tron Lightcycle Power Run
The Tron Lightcycle Power Run is the park's newest attraction.
This indoor roller coaster is set to 'The Grid' from the TRON movies.
Think Rock 'n' Roller Coaster mixed with Space Mountain, but TRON Lightcycles (Motorcycles).

It's an incredibly fun ride.
Remembering that now without fastPass+ and its previous appointments, even more is needed planning to enjoy the parks.
That's why getting there early is so important – in the first hour that the Magic Kingdom is open, you can efficiently experience rides without the queues.
You can probably do as many rides as you can in that first hour alone.
The same goes for later in the evening, as the lines start to thin about an hour before the park closes, especially if the closing time is late.
Space mountain
The Space mountain it's a dark roller coaster in outer space.

There are some cool themes here, an explosive tunnel and music to enhance the experience. It also has some interesting post-show scenes in space.
This roller coaster has a height requirement of 1.12m (44″) and is completely dark, so it can be relatively scary for kids.
Space Mountain doesn't turn upside down and doesn't have a loop, but it's still my favorite Magic Kingdom attraction!

It is highly recommended that you use the Genie+ or prioritize Space Mountain early in the morning or late at night.
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
Buzz lightyear asks for your help in an interactive and competitive ride to save the universe in this adventure inside the Magic Kingdom.

It's like a complete video game and it's fun.
The lines vary quite a bit for him and can be very long, but generally not so bad at the end of the day.
It is an attraction recommended for all ages and will even please adults and children.

It is worth mentioning that in the queue of this Magic Kingdom ride it is possible to find Buzz Lightyear himself.
In fact, in my opinion, it's one of the most realistic animatronics in the park so far.
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
This ride is a stand-up comedy show performed by the monsters from the movie Monsters Inc. where they interact and tell super funny jokes.

I believe the Laugh floor has excellent guest interaction and humor, and appeals to a wide range of audiences. However, it is necessary to understand English well.
Children laugh at the "standard" jokes. told by monsters, adults laugh at interactions between monsters and children (and adults).
The jokes change according to the audience; so if you really like it, do it again.

You don't need an appointment at Genie+ but you need to know how to understand English relatively well to be able to enjoy it!
Astro Orbiters
Flying carousel-style ride similar to Dumbo, however this one has a special factor.
The elevated location makes this ride much more fun, especially at night.

We believe that the view from this ride is worth the trip itself.
We particularly liked it a lot, but it won't be worth it if you have to wait for hours in line to walk in the Astro Orbiters.
Peoplemover
This ride is a slow, no-wait ride that offers beautiful views of the Tomorrowland.
It's not a super unmissable ride, but it's nice for those who have free time in the park.

In it you will pass through several areas of Tomorrowland, including other rides in the area such as Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear.
We loved doing this tour, especially at night.
Tomorrowland speedway
Children may like Tomorrowland speedway, as it gives them the chance to actually drive.

The tracks have a track, so the cars cannot leave each of their lanes on the race track.
It is not a recommended ride for adults and it is not worth waiting for very long lines here.
Carousel of Progress
An audio and animation show with scenes from different eras, featuring technological innovations.

This is one of those rides that a lot of people don't like, but I love this Magic Kingdom Ride.
It doesn't usually have many lines and can be a good alternative in the middle of your day if you want to experience a classic and nostalgic Disney ride.

It's worth mentioning that this is a ride with a lot of English dialogue and it takes 20 minutes to finish so it's quite long.
Frontierland
Frontierland was inspired by the Wild West theme.
It is a very cool land of the Magic Kingdom to walk around and has several fun rides there.
Splash mountain (Definitely closed)
Splash Mountain closed in January 2023 to undergo a major overhaul and will become another attraction.
We haven't removed it from the list yet because its closure was very recent and we leave it here, for now, for informational purposes.
However, if you are planning your trip, it is no longer possible to include Splash Mountain in your itinerary.
The Splash mountain it was a tree trunk ride that features a story from Disney's Song of the South movie and culminates with a big drop in the bush.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
One of the 3 mountains in the Magic Kingdom!

Big Thunder Mountain is a roller coaster themed around a runaway mine train on a ride through the barren Wild West landscape.
Hold on to your hats and glasses, because the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad it's “the wildest ride in the desert!”.
Big Thunder Mountain is also a good ride to secure a Genie+.

And just like the Seven Dwarfs recommendation, it's another ride that you can film with your GoPro and have more amazing memories of your day at the park!
Country Bear Jamboree
A stage show with the bears singing, the Country Bear Jamboree is an attraction that you usually either love or hate.
The Country Bear Jamboree is a distinctive, crisp and irreverent show that most intelligent visitors (and kids) will enjoy.

Anyone who likes irreverent and witty humor will enjoy the Country Bear Jamboree. Remembering that to make the most of it, you also need to understand English well!
Unfortunately the show was shortened a while ago, removing most of the jokes, but it's still an excellent choice!
Tom Sawyer Island
Another super amazing place for those people who like to explore.
This island offers several places to explore such as bridges, caves and even an entire fort.

It is very well done and is a great place for kids to burn off energy.
Adults can also enjoy the tranquility of the island.

To get there you need to take a small boat that goes to and from the island.
Adventureland
The land dedicated to adventures. It's not a very large land of the Magic Kingdom, but it does offer some classic Disney attractions that you shouldn't miss like the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
Pirates of the Caribbean
This ride is a boat ride back in time to the days when pirates ruled the Caribbean.

In the ride from the Pirates of the Caribbean you will go on a boat ride and see several pirates, including Captain Jack Sparrow.
It is a classic Disney ride but has been updated to include movie characters and more realistic animatronics.
Despite being considered an ride for all ages, the darkness and gunfire can scare very young children.

It contains great details, tons of characters, catchy music.
It is usually possible to do it with peace of mind without scheduling on Genie+.
The Enchanted Tiki Room
The The Enchanted Tiki Room is a 15-minute musical serenade where birds on the ceiling of the theater interact with each other and sing different songs.

You've probably heard these catchy tunes before; this attraction's fun music and history make it an ride not to be missed.
The theater is a little dark, but it's usually fun for kids.

For adults-only groups it can be relatively tiring, but it's also a good place to rest while sitting in the air conditioning.
We do not recommend using Genie+ here.
Jungle Cruise
The Jungle Cruise is a riverboat tour of Adventureland where you will encounter hippos, lions and piranhas and other animals along the way.
It is worth mentioning that none of the animals in the ride are real.

The real highlight here is the jokes from the captains who pilot the ride's boats.
If you don't like dry, intentionally corny humor, you might not like Jungle Cruise.
We've already seen several guests leaving the Jungle Cruise with confused looks on their faces. It is highly dependent on the captain.
Of course, this depends a lot on your captain and obviously on your level of understanding of English.

It's another one of those rides that needs an update!
It is not necessary to use Genie+ here.
Magic Carpet of Aladdin
Another flying carousel type ride like the Astro Orbiter or Dumbo.
But the Magic Carpet of Aladdin is naturally themed after the movie Aladdin and you will be able to fly on the amazing magic carpet from the movie.

It's pretty cool for little kids.
No need to use Genie+ for this ride.
Swiss Family Treehouse
The Swiss Family Treehouse it's a fun area to explore.
It is a tree house with many details to see and explore.

It can be a lot of fun for kids and people who like different activities like climbing and climbing things.
It doesn't usually have long lines and can be a good alternative for many groups.
Liberty square
Liberty Square was created with the aim of honoring the early years of the United States' independence and celebrating a free country.
Therefore, there you will find replicas of the bell and the tree of liberty that are present in it.
Haunted Mansion
Perhaps another ride so high on the list. For me it's a classic of classics!

The Haunted mansion it's a dark, slow ride that's home to 999 happy haunts that are eager to meet you.
No further explanation should be necessary.
In the Haunted Mansion, the ghosts are the most jovial and singing type, so it shouldn't scare small children, but it's dark, so we recommend watching a video of this attraction before taking younger children.

This is another ride that you can always do.
Hall of Presidents
The Hall of Presidents attraction is a theatrical performance with Audio-Animatronics of all the presidents of the United States.

It's a powerful and educational ride just like Walt Disney liked it.
It is worth mentioning that this Magic Kingdom ride naturally features a lot of English dialogue.

Well, on this list we left out random entertainment shows and character encounters and a few other seasonal offerings, but it should cover all Magic Kingdom park rides.
If you have the time, try as much as you can as you will likely disagree with at least some of these rides.
Liberty Square Riverboat
A relaxing way to float in Frontierland, but just like the PeopleMover from Tomorrowland or the Walt Disney World Railroad, it's just a calm and peaceful ride.

If you only have 1 day at Magic Kingdom, it's not a ride that should be on your list.

Common questions
For sure. The Magic Kingdom is the park that offers the largest number of attractions, even though most of them are aimed at children, there are several that will amuse adults. We love this park.
If you want to do all the attractions in the park, be aware that it is extremely difficult to do them all in the same day if you are not an expert in the park and Genie+.
Therefore, we recommend at least 2 days to enjoy all the attractions of the Magic Kingdom.
No. There is a myth that the park is more crowded at the weekend, however the capacity does not vary according to the day of the week, but events and holidays.
Yes, Disney offers free WiFi in all of its theme parks.
There is no star wars attraction at the Magic Kingdom, all the attractions of the Star Wars universe are in the Hollywood Studios park.
Yes. There is one Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the Magic Kingdom.
Yes, it's possible, however we don't recommend it because of the time it will take you to get in and out of the park again.
Yes. There are several attractions that may be closed due to scheduled maintenance or some that may close due to malfunction throughout the day.

More information
If you are looking for other parks, we have other attraction guides here on the blog such as:
– Epcot's Best Rides
– The Best Animal Kingdom Attractions
– Best Hollywood Studios Attractions
If you have children, you should also check our complete list of rides with height requirements at Walt Disney World.
Several of Magic Kingdom's most popular rides have height requirements; It's good to know which ones before arriving at the Park!

Choose the Right Attractions
Popular attractions are popular for a reason.
However, it is the other, less popular attractions that complete a day at the park.
As such, trying the “right” less popular attractions can brighten up your day.
Personal Experiences
On our last trip, Nath and I took almost a whole day to do secondary attractions.
Of course, we had fastPass+ (before Genie+) on our MagicBands to our favorites and we went there at the right times, but we managed to do practically all the rides & attractions in the park in a single day and it was wonderful!
Of course, this varies a lot if it's your first time at Disney or if you go often. Everything is a matter of perspective.
If you only have 1 day to go to Magic Kingdom, prioritize the main shows and rides to ensure a fantastic day!

One day in Magic Kingdom it's about variety, and some less popular rides are also exceptional.
You can spend all day waiting in lines to experience the “Magic Kingdom Mountains” over and over again because they are so exciting.
But if all that matters is emotion, you're not having a full experience.
On top of that, doing some of the “numb” attractions also means less time spent in lines, which is always a plus.

We recommend that you have at least one full day to spend at the Magic Kingdom, with 2 full days being ideal.
You may have more or less time, depending on the amount of purchased tickets and the Park Hopper option.
Video of Magic Kingdom Rides
Well, those who follow us on our social networks have already seen several times what the rides of the park are like because whenever we are there we show both on our instagram and on our youtube channel.
But as we haven't created a video compiled with all the attractions yet, we recommend you watch this one to get an idea of what you'll find there:
We hope this post with the Magic Kingdom rides will help you plan your best trip!

Without a doubt the best Disney park. The Magic Kingdom has a magic that enchants and every time I go I cry when I get to Main Street.
A quick question, I'm going with my husband and he loves seafood and Italian food (he doesn't like hamburgers), but our budget is not too high for food, any recommendations for us to eat in this park?
Hi Julia, Thank you for your comment!
For your case, we recommend lunch at Columbia Harbor House. It is right across from the Haunted Mansion and is an amazing quick service with seafood options. I'm sure your husband will love it!
We already talked about it here on the blog (https://partiudisneyparks.com/columbia-harbor-house/)
And of course, if you have any further questions, we are at your disposal.
Strong hug
Which restaurant is better to have dinner with the beauty or the princesses?
What is the value of intant production?
The best dining options with the princesses are Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom and The Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot! =)
Thanks
Does pregnant have any benefits?
Cheapest or skip-the-line ticket?
Hello Fernanda.
Unfortunately, there is no benefit, neither for admission nor for skipping the queues.
We recommend that you buy the genie+ to avoid standing in lines and of course keep in mind that not all attractions are recommended for pregnant women.
We still don't have a post totally dedicated to this here on the blog, as soon as we do I'll make sure to let you know here in the comments =)
