This is one of those attractions that many people ignore, sometimes not even knowing where the entrance is. But Astro Orbiter is a simple and fun ride that everyone should try at least once.

Alright, if you're really scared of heights, it might be a good idea to skip this one.

But if that is not the case, the Astro Orbiter in addition to being a fun attraction, it will give you a beautiful view of the Tomorrowland and from the castle in the Magic Kingdom.

It's not a must-see attraction, so if you've already been to Disney and haven't ridden it yet, don't feel bad about it.

Astro Orbiter Story

Originally known as Star Jets, this ride became the Astro Orbiter in 1994. This attraction takes you on a spin over the Magic Kingdom in Buck Rogers style rockets.

Not only can you move your rocket upwards, you have to take an elevator to reach the loading area.

The views are great, but make no mistake, he's a lot bigger than the dumbo.

The attraction

Well, it's one of those attractions that doesn't demand a great deal of explanation.

First, about his line.

It's a different queue as you'll enter an elevator in the middle of it.

This is one of the reasons why the queue moves a little slower than it should.

But that's okay because it usually doesn't get that full.

The second thing I think is relevant to mention is that the jets where you enter are not the biggest.

Me and nath got pretty tight in them. It's ok that we are chubby eheheheh. But Nath is very small in height and so am I (1.50 and 1.70).

After you get into the jet, it will take off and rotate up and down.

I'll be quite honest, when you're inside it, it seems to spin a lot faster than it actually spins.

That is, if you get sick on attractions like this, be careful and think twice because it really spins a lot.

We love it, and if you like attractions like this, you'll love it too!

Just for the view I already think it's an attraction worth taking advantage of!

Fun Facts by Astro Orbiters

  • Astro Orbiter's jets rotate at a speed of 11 revolutions per minute!
  • Via DisneyParkHistory.com, Astro Orbiter averages from Magic Kingdom travel about 1.2 million miles a year!
  • When Astro Orbiter opened as The Star Jets at Magic Kingdom, rocket guests wore miniature replicas of the Apollo-Saturn rockets.
  • With the 1994 renovation of the Astro Orbiter at the Magic Kingdom, the ride's focal point was changed from the Saturn V rocket to feature various planets floating around the rockets.
