Have you noticed the overhead rails that are in the Tomorrowland, at the Magic Kingdom? More than just a decoration, they are an attraction, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover!

That is, you will take a tour of Tomorrwland and enter some attractions, such as:

In addition, the train will pass over Mickey's Star Traders store.

Features of Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

The entrance to the attraction is almost opposite Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, another classic of the Magic Kingdom.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is the only ride of the park that is sponsored by a company.

In this sense, People Mover, which is responsible for tireless urban transport technology, invested in the attraction.

I believe classic Disney attractions deserve a special thread about their history. Therefore, I will briefly mention the evolution of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.

1975 to 1994

For 19 years, that attraction was the “Wedway PeopleMover”. At the time of its opening, many people considered it too technological.

This characteristic was recognized due to the way the trains moved, which was not through tires. Even today, the propulsion system is the same.

That is, the carts move through synchronous linear motors, which are built into the rails.

1994 to 2009

After a long time, there was the first reopening and name change of the attraction. During this period, it became known as the Tomorrowland Transit Authority.

As well as the translation of the name, the attraction now has educational content about traffic. With the change, the tour also began to demonstrate a technological city.

2009 to 2020

For 11 years, the attraction had the presence of some Disney characters, such as Buzz Lightyear and some of the Monsters Inc.

During that time, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover extolled the technology of the cities of the future.

However, in 2020, Disney parks had to be closed due to Covid-19. In this sense, several attractions were placed on the list for renovation, as was the case with the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.

We still don't know how the new attraction turned out, but we're looking forward to meeting you!

How is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover queue?

You must go up the walkway that is next to the Astro Orbiter to enjoy the attraction. However, it is very rare that you will find a queue up there.

There are two explanations for this. The first is that many are unaware that the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover exists, as they believe that overhead rails are for decoration only.

In addition, those who know usually consider the attraction a little boring. There is no excitement and adrenaline like in the neighboring Space Mountain, which does not attract much attention.

Finally, I recommend that you go at least once for the historical value. Disney maintains some of its oldest attractions and they are worth seeing.

Another tip is that this is a great attraction for you to rest. Think: it's better to sit in a cart and see the attractions of Tomorrowland from above than to stay on one of the fixed benches, right?!

FastPass + and Single rider

Due to the short queues for this attraction, it does not have the FastPass +, nor with the single rider.

How is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover route?

In short, this attraction's route celebrates technology in cities of the future.

During part of the way, they will have screens with projections of big cities and what is expected of them in a few years.

Also, you can see all the movement of people in Tomorrowland. Another cool feature is that this attraction is part of others, such as Space Mountain, my favorite.

We've already shown this attraction a few times on our social networks, it's cool for you to see for yourself how it is, watch the video below!

Of course, the emotion is not the same as being there, but I find it interesting to know some attractions from other points of view.

The whole tour lasts about 10 minutes, at a very slow speed. Like I said, it's not the coolest attraction in Tomorrowland, but you should at least give it a chance.

Is it worth walking on PeopleMover?

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is an attraction with a different character to some attractions, it has no thrills and nothing too amazing to see.

So after all, is it worth it?

In our analysis it is worth it in some situations, the first one, if you don't have to face a very long queue.

Another big positive for this attraction is that on busy, hot days, it can be a great way to relax and rest your feet.

Also a nice thing as you relax in it is that you will have good photo opportunities of the castle and other parts of Tomorrowland along the way.

And as we said at the beginning of this post, in peoplemover you will pass inside some attractions, which is also a very interesting experience!

Get your Parks Tickets at a Discount

Many people leave to buy their tickets when they arrive in Orlando or even on park day.

We absolutely do not recommend that you do this for a number of reasons, such as:

If you buy tickets on the spot, you won't be able to book your park days in advance at the risk of not even being able to enter a park on a given day.

You will lose valuable park minutes in line to buy your tickets.

AND MOSTLY, you will pay more because tickets at the box office are more expensive than buying in advance!
