Storybook Dining: Discover the new dinner with Snow White at Disney

Photo of author

Recently, Disney launched a new themed dinner with one of its most famous characters: the Storybook Dining.

In it, you can have a meal accompanied by Snow White (and three more surprise characters).

This is not the first event of its kind (as you well know), but it is one of the most recent additions to the events available at Disney.

But how will things work? That's what we'll find out next (so keep reading!).

How it works ?

This dinner with Snow White is an excellent experience for anyone who is a fan of the character. if she is yours Disney princess favorite, you don't want to miss the opportunity.

Dinner is held at Artist point, restaurant that is inside the Wilderness lodge, one of Disney's most impressive, beautiful and respectable hotels.

You no need to stay at the hotel and not even have a ticket to one of Disney parks, just make an exclusive reservation for this event.

Just show up at the entrance with your reservation and you're soon taken to your table.

In the hall, the Snow White welcomes the guests and goes from table to table greeting each person. It's possible to talk a little with her, interact and even ask for an autograph (although you already get a freebie like that, but I'm giving a spoiler of the rest of the text, hehe).

This is an excellent opportunity to meet Snow White. The character usually appears in the areas of meet & greet on Epcot and sometimes in Magic Kingdom as well as other character meals (like Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall).

Besides her, who will also greet each visitor at the tables are the dwarves Angry and Dunga🇧🇷 They are rarer to find around Disney parks (I think they only appear at special events).

But remember I said there were 3 surprise characters at this dinner? Dunga is one, Zangado is another and the last one is… Evil queen🇧🇷 She is a great surprise because she is very hard to find at Disney!

At Storybook Dining, you can take pictures with the Evil Queen
That's the Evil Queen in Storybook Dining. Pretty cool, huh?

Her difference from the other characters in Storybook Dining is that she won't come to your table greet you. First because she is the Evil Queen, right? She's harder to please, hahaha.

Also, as she is a villain, children are often very afraid of her. So, just in case, she stays in a far corner and only goes to her whoever wants to.

This is nice as it prevents it from being a bad experience for the kids. Also, her little corner (it's literally a corner of the dining room) is all decorated like the castle and there is one specific photographer just to take pictures of her with the visitors. Because of this, the images look really cool.

During dinner, the characters walk around the hall and have pictures with the guests, interact and talk with people. It's a really fun experience!

What is the Storybook Dining decor?

As it could not be otherwise, Disney puts on a separate show in the decoration of Artist Point to create the atmosphere of this dinner with Snow White.

Artist Point is already one of the most beautiful and well-decorated restaurants in all of Disney hotels (anyone who has had the opportunity to have dinner there knows what I'm talking about), but he was especially amazing for this event.

The whole place was transformed into Enchanted Snow White Forest🇧🇷 Logs climb the pilasters of the place and there is a kind of web of leaves and branches serving as a roof covering the place.

On the tables, there is a themed centerpiece that looks like an Enchanted Forest tree. Each napkin comes with an “enchanted apple”, which is autographed by all the characters: Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy and the Evil Queen. The first three are willing to sign again in other roles if you want, but the Queen might not (it's part of the character, it's nothing personal!).

What is the Storybook Dining menu?

If we're talking about dinner with Snow White, one of the main parts is, of course, the food.

In the event, each guest can choose an individual dish🇧🇷 In addition, there are 3 starters and 3 desserts that are divided among all the people at the table.

If you were worried about the amount of food, you can relax: there will probably be plenty left on your table. Entries are very good!

Of course, all dishes, starters and desserts are themed.

The entries are as follows:

  • hunter's pie (chicken, black truffle and stone fruit compote);
  • Pumpkin cream;
  • Wicked Shrimp Cocktail (shoyu, avocado, miso, bird's eye pepper and leafy greens).

The main dishes are as follows:

  • Real Braised Rib (accompanied by mashed potatoes with horseradish, popover, broth and smoked carrots);
  • Brothers Grimm Roast Chicken (with roasted brussels sprouts, apple, nut butter and tomato);
  • Magic Mirror Veal Shank (accompanied by celery root puree, broth and sautéed greens);
  • A Nature Walk (pumpkin, gnocchi, sage, parmesan cheese and arugula);
  • Snapper baked in butter (legume risotto, citrus butter sauce, wild mushrooms);
  • Dwarfs Cabin seafood stew (shrimp, mussels, tomato, scallops and fennel).

For children, the main dishes are as follows:

  • Grilled chicken (with potatoes and broccoli);
  • Prince and Princess Noodles (with option of cheese sauce or red sauce);
  • Veggie steamed bun (accompanied by pickles, coriander, crispy shitake and hoisin);
  • Real Braised Rib (accompanied by roasted potatoes and broccoli).

Remembering: each person must choose one of these dishes. Only the starters and desserts that all options are served and divided among the people at the table. By the way, these are the desserts:

  • Miner's Treasures (sponge cake topped with Italian cream and chocolate diamonds);
  • Poisoned apple" (white chocolate and apple mousse, with sour filling);
  • Fairytale Gooseberry Pie (gooseberry meringue);
  • The Huntsman's Gift to the Queen (Popcorn with maple syrup and ganache heart).

For drinking, there are a number of options. One of them is a complete wine list (the choices are not themed). However, there are other themed alternatives, such as the Transformative Potion (lemonade) or the Smoking Mirror (which is Johnnie Walker Black with lemon and berries).

At the risk of getting repetitive (forgive me, hahaha!), Storybook Dining looks like this:

  • All entrees are served to be divided among the guests at the table;
  • Each person chooses an individual entree;
  • All desserts are served to be shared among the guests at the table;
  • Drinks are individual and charged separately.

How to book Storybook Dining?

If you are interested in this dinner with Snow White and want to experience this event when visiting Disney, it is recommended that you make a reservation in advance.

As it's a relatively new event (it was launched in 2018!), it's usually pretty crowded. After all, hardly anyone has gone yet and everyone wants to try the novelty.

Therefore, it is recommended that you do the booking through the website in advance🇧🇷 You can reserve your table up to 180 days before your visit.

The price, just for you to plan, is from $35 dollars to $59.99 dollars per adult.

So, what did you think of the Storybook Dining? Do you think the idea of going to dinner with Snow White is cool?

Without a doubt, the interaction with the characters is one of the coolest things about the event, but the food is not far behind. Comment below if you have any questions or if you are going to incorporate this tour into your trip to Disney!

Get your Parks Tickets at a Discount

Many people leave to buy their tickets when they arrive in Orlando or even on park day.

We absolutely do not recommend that you do this for a number of reasons, such as:

If you buy tickets on the spot, you won't be able to book your park days in advance at the risk of not even being able to enter a park on a given day.

You will lose valuable park minutes in line to buy your tickets.

AND MOSTLY, you will pay more because tickets at the box office are more expensive than buying in advance!
