For those who have fun with the Bug's Life movie, It's Tough to be a Bug is an unmissable attraction in Disney's Animal Kingdom.

This is because it is inspired by the production that captivates people to this day.

But, look how curious: the attraction, in the park, was inaugurated even before the film reached the cinemas.

Yes!

Animal Kingdom hosted It's Tough to be a Bug in April 1998, seven months before the film hit the big screen.

In addition to being in Florida, the second version of the 3D film began its showing at Disney California Adventure. This happened in early 2001. However, in 2018, it was no longer possible to watch the animation, as it was the Spider-Man attraction that took its place.

Ever wondered what it would be like to be an insect? So, with this attraction, you can venture out with the characters from the cartoon “A Bug's Life” (or A Bug's Life) and discover a little bit of how they live, how about that? Is it good for you?

The It's Tough to be a Bug Attraction

As mentioned earlier, this attraction consists of a 3D movie, which lasts about nine minutes.

It is based, however, on the film Vida de Insecto, and brings details about everything that surrounds this animal life.

The attraction targets all ages, without minimum height defined.

However, it may not be ideal for some people as it takes place in the dark and can be scary and noisy.

In this way, it is interesting to know your needs before you propose to go.

In the park, it is available to visitors from 8 am to 8 pm.

As it is a 3D movie, when you choose the seat, you will receive the glasses to watch such a show, which has, none other than, the ant Flik as the presenter.

You will feel nature on your skin when you see yourself being attacked by tarantulas. Plus, you'll feel soldier termite spray and that nasty smell when a stink bug comes your way.

The characters even interact with the audience!

According to the website of Disney, the film aims to show that “the life of an insect really it's not easy at all”.

Special effects, audio-animatronics and 4D surprises will make you understand the animal world and how they live.

Check out an excerpt from the presentation, available on Youtube:

Where is the attraction?

The attraction takes place inside The Tree of Life, symbol of the Animal Kingdom. Amazing, no? Well, that's where all the magic happens and nothing more than very good thinking, right?

The Tree of Life is the representativeness of the park, although “fake”, it represents a frightening and beautiful naturalness. It is gigantic and there are more than 300 animals carved along its entire length.

Inside the trunk is a theater that seats 430. And that's where you'll see the movie.

It all stays in Discovery island, the heartland of Animal Kingdom. See on the map:

Keep in mind that, as it is an attraction aimed at the whole family, this is reflected in the queues.

Yes, they are quite large, as the demand is very high. You can and should, therefore, plan and set a time that is ideal for you to go.

We even made a 1 day tour at Animal Kingdom that can help you in this organization. If necessary, you can also use the fastpass +, to speed up your It's Tough to be a Bug adventure.

So, don't think twice about including the tour in your day. Finally, enjoy!

It is worth it ?

In our opinion, it's one of the must-see attractions in the park (of course, I'm not comparing it to Flight of Passage or Everest)!

It is one of those super pleasant and lively attractions that has the beautiful characteristic of pleasing the whole family and that makes you leave the theater smiling and wanting to repeat it over and over again.

Even in ourselves it causes all this and still brings us a super nostalgia because we remember the good memories we had watching both the movie A Bug's Life and the attraction as a child.

We recommend that you do not go to this attraction only in 2 situations, in case you or someone in your group is terrified of insects.

Uu if you are in a group with very young children who can be startled by the dark and insects touching their backs and legs.

And yes, you will really feel an insect giving you a “sting” in the back and another one going under your butt. To this day it makes me nervous lol
