One of the best parts of Epcot is the World showcase, because you can get to know the culture of different places, mainly through the restaurants. One of them is Tokyo Dining, located in the Japan pavilion.
On this post
You can find it between Morocco and the United States (The American Adventure).
The restaurant has a menu focused on Japanese food. However, in addition to tasting, you can also get to know the culture of the country!
How is Tokyo Dining?
In the Japan pavilion, you can see a large building with typical architecture. Go up to the second floor, because that's where Tokyo Dining is.
The place works with the service and waiters, that is, it is not a fast food. Therefore, you must sit down to place your order.
Environment
Undoubtedly, the special touch of Tokyo Dining is given by the environment. It is dark, with square and well-set tables, which make reference to restaurants in Japan.
In addition, a point that I find very interesting are the employees, as they have Japanese origin or descent. By the way, this is a feature of the World Showcase cast member: they come from the country represented.

Therefore, in addition to cooking, it is a fact that you will be able to feel yourself in the country. Therefore, all the education and receptivity of Japanese culture is portrayed in the restaurant.
What is the Tokyo Dining menu?
typical dishes
The menu is divided into appetizers, sushi nigiris, sashimi and rolled sushi. And, ah, you're wrong if you think you're going to eat just one more sushi, since at Tokyo Dining you eat THE sushi!
The appetizer menu actually resembles starters. So I recommend you order at least one of the dishes to try!
The portions of the place are small and really only serve one person. On the other hand, you can arrange with your group to order different dishes, so that everyone can try one of them!
Allergen-free options
Unfortunately, Tokyo Dining does not have a special diet menu. However, vegetarians can feed themselves with some snacks.
Drinks
As with other World Showcase restaurants, Tokyo Dining's liquor menu is incredible!
You can choose from a variety of beers, sakes and local drinks. In addition, there are also Japanese wines.
However, be aware that the age of majority in the United States is 21 years old. Unlike in Brazil, drinking under 18 is a crime in Orlando. Also remember to carry your passport, as it serves as your ID.
On the other hand, there are also non-alcoholic drinks. They range from the typical machine drinks, lemonade and tea (hot or iced).
What is the average price of Tokyo Dining?
According to Disney's own classification, Tokyo Dining is a mid-priced restaurant ($$). So you should spend around US$ 40 per person for a meal.
Although it seems expensive at first, I recommend that you choose at least one of your park days to have a different meal. The experience will definitely be worth it!
Some tips on Tokyo Dining
Bookings
As with the other restaurants around the lake at World Showcase, you must make a reservation to go to Tokyo Dining.
It may not be necessary in low season, but I think it doesn't hurt to be safe.
Especially during dinner, as the restaurant offers a privileged view of HarmoniUS, Epcot's new fireworks show.

If you're not already familiar, HarmoniUS is coming at the end of 2020 to replace Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.
Children
Unfortunately, Tokyo Dining does not have a children's menu. However, if your child likes Japanese food, he won't have a problem with the place!
Another negative point is in relation to distraction, as the restaurant does not have a toy library or anything like that.

Get your Parks Tickets at a Discount
Many people leave to buy their tickets when they arrive in Orlando or even on park day.
We absolutely do not recommend that you do this for a number of reasons, such as:
If you buy tickets on the spot, you won't be able to book your park days in advance at the risk of not even being able to enter a park on a given day.
You will lose valuable park minutes in line to buy your tickets.
AND MOSTLY, you will pay more because tickets at the box office are more expensive than buying in advance!
Access our ticket website to buy your tickets or request a free consultation to find out exactly which tickets are the best to buy.
