Aquatica – The SeaWorld Water Park

Parque Aquatica combines water park fun with opportunities to interact with animals.

SeaWorld knows water activities well.

So it's not surprising that he created a water park of the highest standard.

Orlando is a very tropical place and has warm days at all times of the year.

On our last winter trip, we had days of extreme heat, when walking in the park in the sun becomes extremely uncomfortable.

Therefore, water parks are excellent alternatives for those who want to cool off a little on these hotter days.

Many travelers believe that water parks are not as fun as theme parks like Island of adventure or Magic Kingdom.

This may have been true some time ago. The truth is that water parks, especially the new ones, are just as unmissable as the traditional ones.

And in Aquatica park, O SeaWorld caprichou!

In addition to the wide range of radical and fun attractions, they came up with a new concept mixing one of the elements that most attracts visitors to Sea World. Interaction and view of aquatic animals.

So let's get down to business

What is SeaWorld Aquatica Park

The 238,000-square-meter park offers plenty of rides for all ages and adrenaline levels amidst an island atmosphere in the South Sea.

One of Aquatica Park's flagship attractions is Dolphin Plunge, which features side-by-side waterslides where you slide through a pool with black and white Commerson dolphins.

The first time I saw the image below, I was terrified thinking they were orcas, see the image on the side.

While the concept of “interacting with dolphins” sounds intriguing, the experience may not be worth the wait.

Dolphin Plunge's waterslides start from enclosed opaque tubes and offer fast, twisting rides in the dark.

When you enter the pool with the dolphins, the tubes change to clear acrylic.

But even if the dolphins are swimming close to the tubes (which is only occasionally) you are unlikely to see them as both the dolphins and you will be at a high speed.

With lines that easily increase to an hour or more on busy days, think carefully before taking a tour of this attraction so you don't get too frustrated.

But that doesn't mean you won't see cute dolphins.

Strolling next door and onto Loggerhead Lane, Aquatica's lazy river, there's no waiting, and the attraction pleasantly includes a leisurely stroll through an underwater window to the dolphin pool.

The relatively short route also passes through a grotto with an aquarium of colorful African fish.

Passengers aboard the two rides of the two Tasssie Twister bowl attraction also flow into the lazy river and can see the animals.

Want to see the dolphin but don't want to be in any of these attractions? No problem, it is also possible to see dolphins from land.

The theme behind Aquatica is the pacific ocean, especially the beaches of Australia and New Zealand.

At the Aquatica you will find a large number of water slides and two wave pools that sit side by side on an artificial white sand beach.

And other things very similar to what we find in other water parks in orlando like lounge chairs scattered around the park for a nice rest.

Opening hours of the Aquatica Park

Normally the park is open from 10 am to 5 pm, but it is possible that in some months the hours are changed, such as in summer, for example.

We recommend that you check the calendar and Park hours on the official website.

Attention because the park usually closes on some Mondays and Tuesdays in November and December!

Park Parking

Parking costs $30 and like the park, it is very close to Sea World. It's well signposted, so rest assured that your GPS will guide you right to the right place.

How it compares to other water parks

Some of the best and most popular water parks can be found in Florida, and Parque Aquatica is among them.

While not as lush as Disney's Typhoon Lagoon (or the Discovery Cove from SeaWorld), he is very pleasant.

Among the more extreme waterslides are Ihu's Breakaway Falls, a multi-drop tower that includes launch pods, and Ray Rush, a family raft that incorporates a mini-vase and a halfpipe element.

Among all the water parks at Orlando's top three theme park resorts, SeaWorld, Universal and Disney World, which one offers the most excitement?

Hard to say, but maybe Volcano Bay is a little more intense in the sense of adrenaline-fueled attractions.

What to eat at Aquatica

The three restaurants at the park offer food that is slightly above typical water park fare.

Banana Beach Cookout, an all-inclusive buffet, offers an intriguing deal.

SeaWorld Aquatica – Banana Beach Cook-Out

For a few dollars more than a one-time meal, guests can return as many times as they like throughout the day, meaning if your group eats a lot, it might be worth paying a one-time fee and returning every time hunger hit.

The other 2 restaurants are more in the fast food style, all very similar to what everyone is used to seeing in Orlando and especially in the theme parks (that food is more or less).

A point worth mentioning is that the Aquatica allows the entry of soft drinks, water, juices, cookies, snacks, sandwiches and baby food, if you need it, you can take everything inside your backpack, or even a cooler.

All of Aquatica's restaurants offer comfortable seating and covered areas. To complete the service, Aquatica has six food kiosks throughout the park.

With the new Aquatica Meal Deal meal plan, visitors are entitled to 1 main course, 1 side dish or dessert, a snack, and a souvenir glass for unlimited consumption of drinks (free refill) during the day of the visit.

The plan is valid at any restaurant in the park.

Is it worth going to Aquatica with Children?

Yes it's worth it!

Aquatica has 2 huge children's playgrounds that we'll talk about a little further down in the attractions section.

Playgrounds are Kata's Kookaburra Cove Playground and Walkabout Waters Playground.

This is almost a convention among Orlando's water parks. They always have playgrounds to entertain the kids.

So you can have peace of mind when taking your puppies to Aquatica. There you will find options for all ages.

At the end of this Post we put a very nice video of the Vai pra Disney people.

There you can see in video a little more about the park.

Moving on, we are going to list and explain a little bit about each of the attractions you can find at Aquatica.

Aquatica attractions

Children's Playgrounds

Kata's Kookaburra Cove Playground : One of the largest interactive playgrounds in the world, with a colorful 18 meter rain tower, this 1,395 square meter playground has more than enough fun for the whole family to enjoy the water slides and shoot water cannons.

Walkabout Waters Playground: An interactive water playground measuring 1,393 square meters, it is perfect for children to go down slides and play with water jets.

Height restrictions vary by slides and visitors should consult park signage or lifeguards for directions.

It also has an exclusive children's pool with 300 thousand liters of water, even those who are not old enough to walk can go down through tubes with dads and moms in buoys specially designed for families.

Ihu's Breakaway Falls - Seaworld Aquatica
Ihu's Breakaway Falls – Seaworld Aquatica

Ihu's Breakaway Falls ( Minimum Height: 122 cm ) : After climbing 126 steps to the top of a tower almost 25 meters high, you can choose between the red, blue, green or purple toboggan to decide which drop you want (worth a look before climbing the tower).

the toboggan Ihu's Breakaway Falls it is the steepest tower in Orlando, with a height equivalent to an 8-story building and three different drops in which it will be launched to plummet to a spiral and culminating in a long final straight.

Taumata Racer (Minimum Height: 107 cm): A toboggan with eight lanes and 91 meters long, yesss, it's pretty big.

The minimum height required is 1.07 m.

Visitors under 1.22m will be required to wear a life jacket for their safety.

Sounds like fun doesn't it?

And it is! Taumata Racer is super radical and fun.

Dolphin Plunge (Minimum height: 122 cm):  The “main” attraction of the park, without a doubt, is one of the most striking for being so different.

It's a waterslide with a drop of 76 meters inside a transparent tube, where you pass in the middle of Commerson's dolphins (the first time I saw it, I thought they were mini orcas).

Wanau Way (Minimum Height: 122 cm): A tower with 4 slides where you go down in a double buoy with your fun partner.

Wanau Way - Aquatica Seaworld Waterpark

The descents are big and full of drops and curves.

Omaka Rocka: Another incredible and exciting attraction, in it you will go down tubes that end in funnels, this at very high speed.

It's a different feeling, like being on snowboard slopes and obviously the attraction ends with a dip in the pool.

Ray Rush Height (Minimum Height:107cm): A nearly 20 meter high water slide that starts with a 36km/h launch can't be bad, right?

Ray Rush at Seaworld Aquatica

RIGHT! Ray Rush is amazing!

This attraction that has 3 different stages and you go on a buoy for up to 4 people you will go through water slides that you have never seen in your life like a giant translucent sphere with a whirlpool of water inside!

Walhalla Wave (Minimum Height: 122 cm): Uan attraction for the whole family.

With a height of 6 floors and a buoy for up to 4 people, you will pass through tunnels and curves.

It's a relatively smoother ride than others in the park, but no less fun!

Tassie Twister (Minimum Height: 122 cm): This is without a doubt one of the craziest toys you could ever imagine.

In fact, getting there is part of the fun.

From the lazy river Loggerhead Lane, you'll make your way to the island in the center and climb up to the tower.

Once you reach the top, super-fast tubes shoot you into a giant bowl, where you'll spin, spin, and spin, until you're finally back in the lazy river.

Wave Pools

Aquatica Wave Pool
Aquatica Wave Pool

Cutback cove and Big surf shores

At Cutback Cove, the waves are always rolling and the action is always high, while at Big Surf Shores, the surf can be high or slow and easy.

What kind of wave do you want to catch today?

Two separate pools let you decide. One wave pool will always be open, the second wave pool is closed in low season.

Lazy Rivers

Roas Rapids - Seaworld Aquatica
Roas Rapids – Seaworld Aquatica

Both attractions serve to relax.

The Lazy River will transport you through the park, passing through caves, past animals such as Commerson's dolphins and taking you to the edge of some attractions.

An excellent option to get around the park or even relax.

Loggerhead lane: A traditional lazy river with buoys and a light current that passes next to the dolphin aquarium, the one we mentioned above in the post.

Roas Rapids: That lazy river it's faster, with water jets in the middle.

Because it's a little more intense, here you'll wear life jackets instead of the usual lazy river buoys. (See photo above).

Tips for the Aquatica Park

Arrive early

With a focus on guest safety and entertainment, the Aquatica Orlando has a limited capacity per day.

When you arrive early in the day, you guarantee your family's entry into the park.

Arriving too late can lead to unhappy family members and a crowded water park.

Aquatica Orlando Park's hours of operation vary by day, but it opens every day at 10:00 am.

Money for Parking

When visiting Aquatica Orlando, always make sure you have extra money for parking, just like other Orlando theme parks.

Parking fees are as follows:

– US $ 15 for cars and motorcycles
– US $ 20 for trailers

Remember, arriving early will also help you claim the best parking spots!

Find out what you can bring to Aquatica

A family trip to the water park wouldn't be complete without the essentials.

Check out our checklist below of what you can't miss:

– Appropriate bathing suit.
- Towels

If you wish to bring a personal life jacket, it must be in good condition and clearly marked with a USCG - Type II or Type III approval.

Life jackets must also be approved and tagged by Aquatica Orlando staff for use.

However, the park does offer free life jackets for guests.

What is not allowed to enter Aquatica

Understanding what is not allowed in the park is one of Aquatica's most important tips.

As a family-friendly water park, Aquatica Orlando offers a world of amenities for guests.

Many of the items you can bring to the park, such as swimming devices, are available for purchase inside the park.

Allowed Foods

While other Aquatica by SeaWorld water parks prohibit coolers and food/drinks from entering the park, Aquatica Orlando allows coolers.

Guests bringing coolers must adhere to the water park's rules on allowed food. Are they:

– Individually portioned snacks (cookie packets, potato chip bags, fruit snacks, etc., under 3.5 oz)
- Bottle of water
– Baby food in plastic containers

Food Not Allowed

The following foods and drinks are not allowed inside the park:

The coolers also cannot exceed the size of 16 liters.

Keep these tips from Aquatica Orlando in mind will help you know what foods and drinks to pack if you want to take them.

Book a Private Cabin

One of my favorite Aquatica tips!

I recommend booking a private cabin for your family.

Seaworld Aquatica - Private Cabins
Seaworld Aquatica – Private Cabins

When booking a cabin, you can choose from a range of cabins, each offering a wide range of amenities, including:

– WiFi
– A private area for your family to relax
– A welcome basket
- Mini fridge
- Water

Considering the park fills up faster each day, these reservations can be hard to come by!

Don't forget to book your cabin before of your trip to Aquatica.

rent a closet

Transporting your bags and items around the water park is not ideal.

Instead, rent the closet size that suits your family and enjoy your day at Aquatica Orlando.

Full day rental service for small lockers is $15 and large lockers are $20.

Seaworld Aquatica - Lockers

Lockers are situated in various locations throughout the water park.
