The theme area of Jurassic Park is highly sought after by fans of dinosaurs and films of the same name. One way to get close to these creatures is the Jurassic Park River Adventure, where you will be able to feel a lot of adrenaline!
In this sense, the attraction is in Jurassic Park. This world of dinosaurs, in turn, is located in the Islands of Adventure, Universal Orlando Resorts park.
Through a tour, you can learn a little more about the friendly species of dinosaurs.
Finally, after a mistake, you and your group are taken to the restricted area of Jurassic Park and the adventure begins!
Features of Jurassic Park River Adventure
The attraction works like an aquatic roller coaster. At first, the feeling is that you will get a little wet. Soon after, your impression will change.
In fact, this is an important point: there are lockers distributed by Island of Adventures.
In turn, they are important for radical and aquatic attractions. That way, your belongings will not be at risk.
For a person to enjoy this attraction, they must be over 1.07 meters. Therefore, children will also be able to venture into the midst of dinosaurs!
The Jurassic Park River Adventure opened in Orlando in June 1996.
There is also a version of it in Hollywood that is well updated with the theme of the new films "Jurrasic World". In this park it is called Jurassic Park: The Ride.
It is not at all certain, but we strongly believe that these changes will also be made in Orlando.
It is very difficult to comment on the Jurassic Park River Adventure and not to involve the changes in Jurassic World that were made in Jurassic Park: The Ride.
Despite being a planned area in 1999, with a theme also from the 90s, many visitors still like it there.
As a result, Universal Orlando Resorts has invested in new attractions. In summary, in addition to the Jurassic Park River Adventure, there are several other Jurassic attractions in this area of the Park.
- Raptor Encounter: an encounter with a dinosaur, which is accompanied by its trainer;
- Jurassic Park Discovery Center: this is an interactive museum, where you can learn more about the species;
- Camp Jurassic: is an attraction dedicated to children, who can safely venture out;
- Pteranodon Flyers: this is a cable car-like attraction, where you can “fly” with a dinosaur;
- Jurassic World VelociCoaster: finally, a roller coaster scheduled to open in 2021!
How is the Jurassic Park River Adventure queue?
The attraction has a capacity of 25 people per departure. In this sense, queues do not usually take long.
It is common for you to stay less than 1 hour to enjoy Jurassic Park: The Ride.
Therefore, the attraction does not have a single rider. On the other hand, you can use other queues.
This is the official queue at Universal Orlando Resorts and works similarly to FastPass +, from Disney.
However, I do not recommend that you use it in Jurassic Park River Adventure. The queues have an average duration of 40 minutes, even in high season.
How is the Jurassic Park River Adventure course?
The trip starts off calmly, where you can observe some peaceful species of dinosaurs.
At that time, some water splashes may fall on your boat.
However, after an error of course, you end up entering the restricted area of Jurassic Park. There are species of fierce and dangerous dinosaurs. So while the creatures try to catch you, the cart's speed increases.
In the end, to escape a huge Tyrannosaurus Rex that appears in front of you, your cart plummets! That is, the cart's speed reaches 80 kilometers per hour in a drop of 26 meters.
It is common for you to get wet at this moment, but nothing compared to the attractions of the Toon Lagoon.
Some technical information about Jurassic Park: The Ride
- Attraction opening: July 2019;
- Capacity of people: 25 people per cart;
- Attraction height: 26 meters;
- Attraction duration: about 5 minutes;
- Maximum attraction speed: 80 kilometers per hour;
- Minimum height to enjoy the attraction: 1.07 meters.

Get your Parks Tickets at a Discount
Many people leave to buy their tickets arriving in Orlando or even on the day of the park.
We do not in any way recommend that you do this for a variety of reasons, such as:
If you buy tickets on the spot, you won't be able to book your park days in advance at the risk of not even being able to enter a park on a given day.
You will lose valuable park minutes in line to buy your tickets.
AND MAINLY, you will pay more because tickets at the box office are more expensive than buying in advance!
