Classic Monsters Cafe – Universal Studios Restaurant

The Classic Monsters Cafe it was a place apart, where the monsters kept a laboratory, where classic beings from American horror films made delicious dishes.

This was the theme of one of the coolest restaurants in Universal Studios Orlando.

It was a monstrous place that made children shiver.

But with good dishes and a nice place to take a break from the toy marathon.

At first glance, it offered classic American food, in addition to the famous options of the city's amusement parks.

But, he was the scariest restaurant in the world. Universal studios and could not be left out of any travel itinerary.

Classic Monsters Café closed?

Unfortunately Classic Monsters Cafe closed permanently in May 2022 and looks like it will not be returning.

Where is it at Universal Studios?

The restaurant was on Production Central, which is the first area seen from the entrance to the park, therefore, passing through is almost mandatory.

Soon, it was easy to spot the monsters.

There were fun attractions there and I was sure to stay for a while, so the Classic Monsters Cafe turned out to be a good option for a snack or even a meal.

Minions, Shrek and Bumblebee

Right at the entrance to the park is the part of the minions, a very fun 3D emulator.

Then, at the end of the attraction, he is greeted by the yellow beings who make mischief and are ready for photos with the visitors.

At Production Central, where was the Classic Monsters Cafe, even today are the couple Shrek and Fiona, in addition to its attraction, a very funny theater.

At the end of the same block it is possible to see Bumblebee and interact with him.

Was there a need to make reservations for the Classic Monsters Cafe?

he was a restaurant quick service, that is, it was necessary to get in line, place an order and go to a table.

Because it was like that, I didn't have the reservation.

The tip for high seasons at any restaurant in the park is to leave someone at the table, while someone else takes the order.

That way, you won't have to face the sun outside until you find a corner to eat, as it was in the Classic Monsters Cafe.

Beware of opening hours

The attractions of the park in general tend to be very strict with schedules, even more, to get involved featured actors.

With restaurants there is a greater tolerance, however, if you arrive close to closing you may be without your order.

It's good to pay attention to the schedule and always create a visit itinerary, so you can enjoy and go to the parks' classics.

The Classic Monsters Cafe It was open from 11 am to 9 pm on weekdays. On weekends, it increased by one hour, that is, 22:00.

It was one of the highlights of the restaurant for those who like old horror movie classics, such as:

• The Dracula;
• Frankenstein;
• The monster doctor.

At the Classic Monsters Cafe there was a little bit of everything, right at the entrance you could sit in an electric chair, it was perfect for a photo.

That, without counting the beings kept as in a biology laboratory, the obvious of the old movies.

Initially, a bust of the reassembled monster greeted you in a good-natured manner at the door of the restaurant, and inside it was divided into three areas:

• The flying saucer;
• Dracula's Castle;
• The swamp.

Each environment was meticulous, with the most varied details that made the visitor really feel inside the story.

In the part aimed at the most famous vampire in the world, there were photos that actually looked real.

In addition, a photo in particular of the bat facing the visitor, the difference is that from where you looked it was possible to see it as if you were facing it.

The restaurant offers a complete experience.

The immersion that the place gave to the visitor was something unique. It really was possible to feel somewhere else when you were sitting in the Classic Monsters Cafe.

Also, the food was delicious and simple in a perfect way.

Classic Monsters Cafe menu is typical American

There's no escaping the classic bread and sausage hot dog in the parks, but not only that, there are several types of hamburgers.

That is, a traditional American menu, such as:

• Chicken;
• Cheese pizza;
• Salad;
• Beef. 

There are other options in the park, the important thing in this restaurant was to get into the mood of terror.

But to be fair it was the classic, but still, it was delicious and the price was super worth it.

Simple but delicious dishes

Overall the dishes were pretty simple, crispy chicken, cheese sauce and pizza.

In addition, the meats had a proposal to be smoked and there were several types of soft drinks.

But it didn't stop being tasty, they were simple dishes, which could satisfy in snack or main meals.

It is worth remembering that it was possible to eat Turkey Legs with mac n cheese, two classics.

The Classic Monsters Cafe was a classic for many years within Universal Studios.

As soon as I passed the turnstiles, it was already possible to see the monsters on top of a simple building, with huge pizzas in their hands.

Photos were mandatory and as there were always great attractions there, it was always the best option for lunch or dinner.

It was certainly a restaurant that marked generations, but unfortunately it closed its activities once and for all.

First, it became seasonal, but later, the park decided to renovate the site in May 2022.

According to the park's official Twitter account, it will undergo a renovation to expand the restaurant.

It was not yet possible to have the information if it will follow the same molds or if it will be another type of environment.

Although the date is already certain, it will be in the American summer of 2025.

It is a place worth exploring, every bit of the park has a sensational attraction and the restaurants they are, in general, all very good.

It is worth making a visit itinerary, including the traditional ones between one kiosk and another.
