The Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom takes you on a 10-minute boat ride across four continents.
The first version of Jungle Cruise was made without jokes and was based on the True Life Adventure series from Disney.
More than likely, it wasn't very popular, as this ride is now one of the funniest in Disney World.
I have to admit that along with the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, this is one of the attractions that most reminds me of my childhood.
You'll board a boat with names like “Amazon Annie” with your trusted guide at the helm.
While they all follow the same route, the guides are what make this attraction so much fun. Even if you've heard the same joke a thousand times, you're sure to have a good time.
You'll pass through hippo-infested waters, but don't worry, they'll only attack if their ears are flapping (which they always are).
On the shore there is a rhino that keeps hunters “busy”, lions resting on a rock.
Also zebras, snakes and giant butterflies in the middle of a tropical landscape that any jungle would be proud of.
If you manage to stay dry near the waterfall, watch out for elephants.
Will they erase you or are you safe? You will only discover the secret after completing the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom.
Eventually, you'll pass a dark Cambodian temple where tigers are eyeing ancient treasures. Once you exit this tunnel, you're back in civilization.
Curiosity about the attraction
Walt Disney originally wanted live animals to be part of the attraction. Jungle Cruise.
However, once he realized he couldn't control his movements, audio-animatronics were used.
Unlike some animal kingdom attractions as the Wanyama safari where you see real animals.
Another curiosity is related to the depth of the river where you will sail. Despite looking like a deep river that contains many animals, it is only 1.5 m deep.
The system uses dark water to deceive visitors and give the impression that the river is much deeper.
