Walt Disney World Resort, commonly known as Walt Disney World and informally Disney World, it's the resort most visited entertainment center in the world, located in Bay Lake, Florida, near the city of Orlando.
The resort opened on October 1, 1971 and annually welcomes over 52 million people to its theme parks and hotels.
Spanning 11,106 hectares, it is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its parks and resorts division and is home to four theme parks, two water parks, twenty-seven theme resorts.
In addition to two spas and fitness centers, five golf courses, and other leisure, sport, shopping and entertainment venues. Magic Kingdom was the first park in the complex, followed by Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom, which opened between the 1980s and 1990s.
Despite what many think, the complex is not in Orlando, but rather about 34 km (21 miles) southwest of downtown Orlando. The property includes the towns of Lake Buena Vista and Bay Lake.
There you will find in addition to the theme parks and hundreds of attractions, Disney characters and many shows throughout the resort!
