“Our world is so beautiful, what more do you want?”, this is an excerpt from the animation Little Mermaid, that is, “The Little Mermaid”.

For those who want to discover what it's like to live "here at sea", there's nothing better than witnessing a show at the Hollywood Studios, Is not it?

So, this is your chance to see Ariel and many other remarkable characters from the drawing that delights everyone.

In the park, so you can sneak in to watch Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

The attraction is characterized as a live show, that is, a live performance. It is a musical, in which it is possible to see Ariel and her friends rocking the main songs of the film.

Film production, therefore, emerged in 1989, based on a short story by Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen.

In the film, Ariel, the little mermaid, dreams of becoming human. She is apparently exhausted from living under the sea.

With the help of her best friend, Flounder (Flounder), she goes to the surface of the ocean, and sees Prince Eric, with whom she falls madly in love.

After some other setbacks, she asks the witch Ursula to transform her into a human.

In the Hollywood show, the characters sing and enchant, showing a little about what it's like to live in the deep waters of the ocean.

Audiences were able to begin seeing the spectacle in 1992, when Voyage of the Little Mermaid debuted.

Since then, almost 30 years later, the show still attracts many visitors daily.

Because of this, this is a reason for you to put it in your script! They're waiting for you, huh? Come and learn more about!

How is the Voyage of the Little Mermaid Show?

Because it's a musical, what they do most, obviously, is sing. That is, the highlight of the show, without a doubt, is the singing.

It's how the music manages to show what they are really feeling.

As in the film, Ariel is curious to know what it's like to live out of the water, what it's like to be human, who falls in love and can live her “happily ever after”.

At the beginning of the presentation, visitors are introduced to Sebastian (Sebastião) and other puppets, the puppets, who, in turn, interpret the music Under the Sea (translated to Aqui no Mar), Oscar winner.

Afterwards, it's time for Ariel to enter the picture.

Her father, King Triton (King Triton), argues with her and that's when the mermaid reflects on the world. This is one of the most beautiful parts of the show, as she says the same thing that is shown in the movie. Makes me want to cry, seriously!

“I don't understand how the world that makes such wonderful things can be so bad.”

Meanwhile, some animation scenes are shown on the screen. It's very interesting and beautiful.

The turn

After Ariel sings, the dreaded Ursula appears, showing that she has the solution to the princess's problems. Here, the mood gets darker, largely because of everything the witch represents.

That way they are in Ursula's lair. Ariel is afraid, because, once human, she will not be able to find her father and sisters again.

Don't think that witches don't sing, because they do, sir! The character, who is represented by a puppet, releases her voice in “Poor Unfortunate Souls“, until the moment that the agreement, finally, is sealed.

Thus, once transformed into a human, for three days, the mermaid's voice will be placed in a shell.

During that same time, Ariel has to receive true love's kiss, which is Eric, to stay that way forever.

If it doesn't happen as expected, the little mermaid will revert to her old form and belong to the witch.

From there, other moments of the film are shown on the huge screen of the theater, to contextualize the later events of the film.

The story of Ariel and Eric is transmitted through flashes, hinting at how they were after the agreement, the failed attempts at kissing and the like.

closing of the show

With that, there is a “race” in the presentation, showing, mainly, the end of the witch.

Back on stage, Ariel, in her mermaid form, is waking up, while the prince is still sleeping.

On this occasion, King Triton, who is on the screen, interacts with Sebastian. They talk about their romance (Ariel and Eric) and then the real show happens. Clap! /O\

Ariel, finally, is transformed, by her own father, into a human. This part is awesome! The costume change is amazing!

The actress, in a "magic pass", loses her tail and gains legs!

Eric, however, awakens and realizes that his love can speak. They interact with each other briefly, then live happily ever after! And the audience goes wild!

More show details

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid happens several times throughout the day, so don't worry too desperately.

Are the queues big? Yes, they are huge! But, as there are several times, you can separate it well to go at a quieter time, let's say.

The show lasts 17 minutes on average and has some special effects.

In our opinion, the most shocking is what is used in Ariel's costume change, mentioned above, when she turns human. It is very perfect!

Also, a curiosity about the presentation is that, during the scene, Sebastian sings “Under the Sea“, more than 100 puppets are present in the musical! That is, it is quite a cast, lol!

Our favorite villain is 3.6 tall and 3 wide. Impressive, isn't it? Mark real presence!

What's more, Voyage of the Little Mermaid was initially intended to be temporary (for 18 months).

But, the success was so much that Disney couldn't get the attraction off the grid.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus, the shows are not happening.

And, according to rumors, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, in particular, may not even be staged again in the future :(. This is all because of an unresolved situation between Disney and the actors' association, the Actors Equity Association.

The attraction is suitable for all ages, without restriction or distinction. Do you like this universe? Then it is ideal for you!

Where can I see?

The musical takes place in the Hollywood Studios park, in an area called the Animation Courtyard. On the map below, you can locate it by the number 12.

The theater supports up to 500 people per session, so it's “easy” to find a vacancy, lol. If you manage to arrive a little earlier, choose to sit in the middle, which is where you can see the show more easily, being the most suitable place ;).

Is Voyage of the Little Mermaid Worth It?

Ah, but then you might wonder: is it worth going? Our intention, however, is to help you with this matter, but we cannot decide for you.

Because it really depends on what you like.

The show is suitable for all ages, so people of all styles can enjoy. However, it is necessary to make some caveats.

The first point to analyze is whether you really like musicals. If you don't like it, don't even waste your precious time, it will be a delay.

Meanwhile, if you are that person who LOVES the princesses and whatever their story stands for, go for it! You will not regret!

A small observation: this “tip” is valid for this show as well as for the others that take place daily at Hollywood Studios.

Having said that, it is also valid to look to the side.

Like, if you have kids in the family and you want to take them, it's the ideal order. Even so, be aware that at certain times the theater is dark, which can bother children, especially younger ones.

In short, in our view, it is of course worth it. However, this varies greatly from person to person. So read a lot about the musical and enjoy yourself until you say enough!
