Although it is a park with many possibilities and aspects, SeaWorld offers attractions mainly based on marine animals, such as the Turtle Trek.

I mean, wherever you look, there's some animal reference. Thus, you actually feel inserted in the environment, without having to leave the place. That's why it's such a popular place for visitors to Orlando.

The Turtle Trek attraction, therefore, arrives to, in a way, honor turtles and manatees, for example, as well as other aquatic creatures that represent the environment.

From there, you'll have to face the story and struggle behind the animals' survival, despite all the pollution and destruction of the natural environment.

At SeaWorld, the attraction opened on April 27, 2012 and, since then, it has been one of the most popular attractions in the park.

So, you can already imagine that the competition, then, will make you have to program yourself well before embarking on this adventure, right?

But don't worry, because it will certainly be essential for you to change your view on the subject.

What is Turtle Trek

Well, the attraction works as a 3D simulator that uses 360 degree technology.

It takes place inside a theater, which was built to receive it and make the experience perfect for the visitor.

That is, you will really be able to feel very close to the animals. And your adventure starts right at the entrance of the attraction, with a pre-show.

First of all, however, to get to the place where the film is shown, you pass through two huge freshwater and saltwater aquariums.

In them, you can see the manatees and turtles that were rescued and are being cared for by the SeaWorld team.

Through glass windows, however, there is this possibility of seeing the animals interacting, swimming...

After that moment, it was time to watch the movie.

The theater, in this sense, has a dome shape, which allows it to be possible to transmit the experience of 360 degrees.

It is even the first in the world to present a 3D film of its kind.

In this way, the projectors – of which there are more than 30 – create the complete image on a “big screen”, which can be seen from any angle/place without affecting the experience.

The attraction

The animals seen in the film are varied, but initially the plot is about a turtle that is born and raised in the sea.

However, until reaching the adult stage, the animal goes through a few and good times, since the ocean, because of the human being, can present several obstacles, such as pollution and irregular fishing.

During the production and trajectory of the turtle, as mentioned above, animals such as dolphins, stingrays, jellyfish, fish and even birds appear, which fly over the sea and go hunting.

Until the moment when this route “starts to go wrong”, which is when a vessel appears to capture the fish, thus destroying a good part of the marine system.

Practically at the end of the presentation, with the aim of making visitors aware of and preserving the environment, a sentence appears in English on the screen, written: “Be an everyday hero. Journey on…”🇧🇷 Translated, it's something like:Be a hero every day. The journey began…🇧🇷 Impressive, isn't it?

Audience, duration and queues

Turtle Trek is recommended for any type of audience, from young children to the elderly.

In this regard, there are no restrictions.

As long as they wear the 3D glasses properly, anyone can watch the movie presentation up close without interference.

Also, the question of the duration of the tour is based on the parts of the experience.

That is, the visit to the two aquariums – the one that contains the manatees and the other that houses the turtles – and, later, the film itself.

With regard to the aquariums, everything happens for around ten minutes (because the park employees themselves control this time). The exhibition of the production lasts seven minutes.

About the queues, it should be noted that the Turtle Trek is very disputed and, therefore, you can lose a few minutes waiting.

However, the good news is that, in this attraction, you can use the Quick Queue, which is SeaWorld's and Busch gardens.

We even we have a post here on the site dedicated to this subject.🇧🇷 Be sure to check it out!

Where is Turtle Trek

Turtle Trek is next to the Dolphin cove – place where you can feed the dolphins and interact with them.

Indicated by the number 12 on the map below, it can also be located opposite the Dolphin Theater.

As soon as you reach the park, passing through the entrance, just turn left and go straight ahead, following the places mentioned above.

It's pretty easy to find. However, be sure to have the SeaWorld map during the adventure day.

Is Turtle Trek worth it?

There is a whole teaching present in Turtle Trek, which, yes, makes it a ride those ideal and perfect to give yourself a chance, you know?

The high technology used is undoubtedly a positive point, since everything is very real, in addition to the much learning that can be extracted, of course.

For people who enjoy laid-back rides that are interactive, Turtle Trek offers that and much more.

Unlike simulators, for example, it's impossible to get sick hahaha.

That's because it doesn't have any movement, swing, shake, these things...

It's you standing still watching a movie with the 3D glasses.

However, this issue of glasses can be a problem for young children, as there is no specific size for them.

In many cases, then, the object can be too wide and out of place on their faces.

Thus, the recommendation is that they do not use it, which does not allow them to have the full feeling of what the attraction can provide.

Perhaps, this is a negative point that needs to be evaluated.

Other than that, it's super quiet and nice.

Both the aquarium part and the presentation are incredible and essential to build the need to stop and think about the future of animals and the environment in general.

That's why it's worth going on Turtle Trek.
