Since 1977, when the first movie in the universe was released, “Star Wars”, as it is translated into Brazil, gathers many fans.
Names like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and, of course, Darth Vader are marked in the minds and hearts of those in love with the saga.
However, Disney couldn't leave a production of this size, which would certainly have repercussions, outside its schedule, could it? Therefore, in 2015, the construction of the area called Galaxy's Edge was announced, that is, the lands where, in the future, the two most requested attractions in honor of Star Wars would be housed: Star Wars: Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Construction took place from 2016 until 2019, when it debuted.
The opening date of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, therefore, was December 5, 2019.
Thus, it has been attracting several visitors daily and even contributing to an increase in expenses incurred in the park, as stated in the article made by the website. The Orange County Register.
Attraction Stages
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance can be defined as a simulator as well as a railless ride in the dark.
That is, the attraction fits both definitions, since it manages to include these two moments.
However, before reaching the beginning of the adventure, so to speak, the visitor will walk through areas of the Star Wars world. Initially, park officials will guide you. Pay close attention to detail, which is amazing from there.
This first “stage” is the pre-show.
In this way, a hologram of the character Rey is activated by BB-8, which gives the start to jobs.
Visitors are then directed to another area, which is a landing strip, where they are directed to a spaceship, defined as “transport ship”.
The details of the ship, which will guide the group into space, are impressive, really. You can feel like you're in the movie, as a protagonist and everything hahaha.
It is possible to watch what is happening in space through the two parts of the ship, the front (the front) and the back (the back).
When the doors open, we are greeted by 50 stormtroopers, the soldiers of Star Wars. The sight of everyone lined up is pretty incredible, no kidding. How can you not get excited? Speaks seriously!
Once the second stage is over, we arrive at the third and final moment of the tour, which is when we will embark on this adventure body and soul.

At first, each visitor is “invited” to be part of the rebel team, that is, those who want to go against the soldiers of the First Order.
Therefore, you will be part of the Resistance. How chic, isn't it?
You and your group are saved, at first, and now you will have to participate in an escape.
Through a vehicle, guided by a droid, is the time when the adrenaline starts to boil.
At first, you and your group (in all, only up to eight people) will sit in this vehicle and, in addition, you will go around the place. This time looks like bumper cars, you know, lol?
Perform this scene and you'll have the attraction drawn in your head, even if there are very unpredictable things ahead.
Only after that there will be a certain simulation, leading you to believe that you are immersed in the universe.
Here, you can, without a doubt, feel like you're fighting in space. And, referring to the movie and the name of the attraction: resisting.
That's your role. Be part of the Resistance, which fights during the battle against the First Order.
Other information about Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
Well, you must be wondering: how long does the attraction last? Who can go? How do I get a job? Let's get to the details?
There are 18 minutes of pure entertainment and immersion in the world of Star Wars.
Disney has really outdone itself with this attraction, although there are others just as amazing scattered throughout the parks. However, this one, in particular, is hats off.
During practically 13 minutes, visitors will be guided, going through those first two stages of knowing the place, through the entire length of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
In that sense, the remaining five minutes is when there will be the dark ride, without rails (important to remember: it's not a roller coaster or just a simulator; it's much more than that!).
The only restriction, therefore, is on the height. Therefore, only people who are over 1.02 meters can go.
Rise of the Resistance Queues
The issue of the queue is one of the main guidelines regarding the attraction, since, unlike others, there is no physical queue and it is not even worth using the fastpass +. That is, the only way you can get to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is using the virtual queue.
However, as is to be expected, the attraction is very popular, even more so for being recent. This means, then, that it is necessary to keep your eyes open when the queues will open, through the Disney application.
It is essential, therefore, that you have My Disney Experience installed on your cell phone, in which you can navigate and signal your interest in venturing into the galactic universe.
However, it is of paramount importance that you pay attention to this queue.
If you don't plan well, chances are you won't be able to participate, mainly because it's one of the most popular attractions at Hollywood Studios.
As it is limited in relation to the number of individuals “on board”, the distribution of numbers for groups that will go to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ends very quickly.
This means, therefore, that there is no time to even blink.
With the numbers distributed, the groups will finally be formed.
If you get one of the first, in turn, you will still go in the morning. As your number increases, towards the end of the day you will go.
Opening
The virtual queue, therefore, will open from 7 am, when visitors will be able to request access.
At 1:00 pm, it will reopen, giving the opportunity for those in the park who were unable to join a group to embark on the tour.
This “extra” opportunity is only given to those who they are already inside the park at the mentioned time, unlike the first one, which you can still try from the hotel, for example.
If you go with friends and/or family, there's no need for everyone to try to get in at once.
Therefore, first, create a group within the application itself for those closest to you. Everyone, however, must be logged into My Disney Experience.
With this group, only the “leader” needs to enter the queue, taking the others in the lead.
Finally, stay tuned to the application, which will be essential for your journey in the galaxies.
Location in the park
As mentioned above, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is located in the area called Galaxy's Edge, the newest “complex” created by Disney, still in 2019, at Hollywood Studios.
This area, however, is dedicated entirely to “Star Wars”.
In order not to get lost, always have the map of the park at hand, which will help you find the location.
Galaxy's Edge is very close to Toy Story Land. As soon as you enter this area, turn left. And there will be the attraction.
Is Rise of The Resistance worth going to?
Well, it's practically impossible not to have a miserable desire to know Star Wars:
Rise of the Resistance. So the answer to the above question is totally YES, IT IS VERY WORTH IT.
First, because it is another reality created by Disney. What they set out to do, they accomplished.
It's humanly unlikely that anyone, even if they've never seen the movies, doesn't like what they find there a little bit.
The “bad” part (yes, it exists!) is, of course, the queue.
Although Disney has created this alternative to control the huge flow of people looking for the attraction, this was a negative point, since it greatly limits who wants to know.
In view of this fact, you have to get up almost early (no kidding!) to get a spot in the group.
Often, it ends up not even being able to, as eventualities happen, such as the internet going bad, the app not working properly, the attraction having to be closed due to some problem…
Even if Disney has “plan B” for when the mistake is theirs, still, not everyone will be properly satisfied.
Because of this, it is worth noting that it requires a certain amount of patience and disposition. Wake up early and keep the app open to get it.
And, succeeding, wait to be called to the ride, which, depending on availability, will only be possible at the end of the day, towards night, when the park is almost closing.
Other than that, there's nothing to question about the wonderful experience that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will provide.
