Rip Ride Rockit – The Roller Coaster of Rock

Those who like roller coasters need to travel to Orlando. The city, the theme park capital of the world, has some of the best roller coasters in the world. One of them is the Rip Ride Rockit.

If you like extreme attractions and enjoy music, this Universal roller coaster could become one of your favorites.

Unlike other roller coasters in the city, which rely on storytelling, narrative and technical resources (which we love, by the way), Rip Ride Rockit has no conversation.

Your focus is adrenaline, speed and maneuvers.

Because of this, it's a roller coaster for the strong at heart and the adrenaline-hungry. Were you instigated? So let's get to know more about her!

It's one of our favorites in all of Orlando, whenever we go to Universal Studios we try to ride it at least 5 times.

Yes, we are adrenaline junkies! So let's talk about her a little bit around here!

How is Rip Ride Rock it?

Inaugurated in 2009, after about 1 year and a half of construction, Rip Ride Rockit entered the Universal Studios catalog to cause an impact.

And it did, see? The roller coaster stands out for its technological and technical innovations, in addition to its impact itself.

Translating: a roller coaster it's good as hell and still innovated in several aspects.

One of the first aspects of innovation was the possibility for visitors to choose the music they want to listen to during the tour.

There is a system where you select a song from a selection of 30 songs to play through your speakers during the tour. You can rest assured: you can't listen to the music chosen by other people and neither will they listen to yours.

Another technical innovation by Rip Ride Rockit was in the creation of its maneuvers. For example, the roller coaster was the first to include a loop where we were never upside down.

It's right at the beginning, when the route includes a U-turn as we reach the top of the loop. It's a really cool process!

Another innovative maneuver is the jump cut, with several spiraling curves, towards the end of the attraction.

Overall, the Rip Ride Rockit is pretty adrenaline-pumping. Its maximum height is 51 meters (slightly lower than Mako, Florida's tallest roller coaster) and its maximum speed is 105 kilometers per hour.

The course is 1,200 meters long and takes about 1:40 minutes to complete, with minimum height of 1.30 m and a maximum of 2.01 m.

For you to have a better view, we put a video of her from our last trip at the end of this post!

Songs by Rip Ride Rockit

As we said before, one of the attractions of the roller coaster is the possibility to choose the music you want to listen to while riding it.

In addition, there are secret songs that can be unlocked by holding the roller coaster logo for 10 seconds after lowering the security item.

Seriously, it's no joke. There really are a number of secret songs on the roller coaster. It was amazing when I tested the secret and it really worked.

After you do the procedure, a 10-digit keyboard (from 0 to 9) appears for you to enter a 3-digit numerical code to select each secret song.

I won't give all the codes, but some are pretty classic. For example, 128 plays the song Vertigo by U2.

306 already plays Lose Yourself, by Eminem. 310 is Madonna's Vogue. There's also Iron Maiden (713 – The Wicker Man), Judas Priest (710 – Painkiller) and Megadeth (715 – Wake Up Dead).

Even instrumental and Muppet songs are among the secret songs. It's worth preparing and searching the Internet for the codes if you want something like playing a secret song on your roller coaster ride.

Is it worth going on the Rip Ride Rockit?

Yes definitely. Unless you don't really like fast and twisty roller coasters, of course.

For example, compare Rip Ride Rockit to Mako, which is in the Seaworld🇧🇷 The Mako is taller and faster, but it really stands out for its 200-foot drop at top speed.

Is it amazing? IT IS. Does it give adrenaline? Lots of. But it's a free fall.

The Rip Ride Rockit is not like that. It's more frightening, even though it's smaller and less fast. For starters, your very first loop has an inversion at the top. It's crazy!

After that, the roller coaster continues with inversions, loops and a bunch of amazing tricks. And, although slower, the speed is not to be underestimated.

So personally, I find Rip Ride Rockit more frightening than other roller coasters.

In this case, I don't recommend it very much for those who are afraid. But for those who have courage, you can go and it's success.

By the way, speaking of which, it is recommended to go as early as possible or as late as possible to this attraction because the queues are long. Because of this, we have included this attraction at the end of the afternoon in the 1 day at Universal Studios🇧🇷 At the extremes of the day, the queues are shorter.

if you have the Universal Express Pass, use it to not take too long in the queue.

As you can see, the Rip Ride Rockit is one of those monster roller coasters that the bravest will want to conquer during their visit to Universal Studios. It is an incredible experience, full of speed and adrenaline. Highly recommended!

On our last trip to Orlando we stopped by a lot. Unfortunately, Universal no longer lets filming for security reasons.

But we made a really cool compilation of our trip with videos from the time when it was possible to go, so you can watch the tour in the video below on our channel.
