what is your Disney roller coaster favorite? Tough question, huh? I know I know.

But there is a reason for us to ask this question: a large part of the people who travel to the Disney parks come back from there in love with some roller coaster. It's not always the same, but everyone has a favorite.

After all, roller coasters are among the top attractions at any theme park.

Therefore, they are the attractions that ?sell tickets? and the fans fall in love.

And as Disney owns 4 of the top parks on the planet, it certainly has some sensational roller coasters.

But which one would be the best?

We have our answer and we will share it with you next. So, if you want to know which are the best Disney roller coasters (in our opinion!), keep reading!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Epcot's latest attraction, this roller coaster based on the Guardians of the Galaxy films, will make all fans of the franchise and good attractions very happy.

It's an indoor storytelling roller coaster, that is, it tells a story along its route.

Disney has always been a reference in this type of attraction and we can say that they have outdone themselves once again.

The story begins to be told while still in line.

This roller coaster is super modern and extremely immersive.

Get ready to include this attraction in your travel itinerary because it is without a doubt, unmissable!

Splash mountain

Location: Frontierland, no Magic Kingdom.

Is it a bad sign when we start our Top Best Disney Roller Coasters with an attraction that isn't a roller coaster? Well, at least not technically, right?

Splash mountain

Splash Mountain is a ?Disney roller coaster? based on the Song of the South cartoon from the 40's. For those who don't live in the US, the attraction is better known than the cartoon!

We use quotes when calling Splash Mountain a roller coaster because, technically, it isn't. However, it is worth putting it on this list.

In practice, Splash Mountain is a boat ride along a large, calm water trail.

But it's at the end that the attraction gets exciting, as it has one of the biggest waterfalls in Orlando!

Because of this drop, you can put Splash Mountain here on the list, yes.

Not even to ?open the works? tasting roller coasters, right?

Tron Lightcycle Power Run

Location: Magic Kingdom, Tomorrowland

Imagine a futuristic roller coaster where you ride a Lightcycle motorcycle into the future?

This attraction is based on the movie Tron and promises to be one of the most extreme in the park.

Unfortunately, this is not yet an attraction that you will be able to do at Walt Disney World as it is still under construction and we are waiting for it to open until 2023.

But everything indicates that Tron's new roller coaster has everything to become a great success and one of the best Magic Kingdom attractions!

The Barnstormer

Location: Fantasyland, in the Magic Kingdom

Another very light Disney roller coaster.

The The Barnstormer it has enough adrenaline to liven up your day, but not to quench the spirit of the most adventurous.

Barnstormer's narrative is that you're on a plane piloted by the "Great Goofini" (an adventurous version of Goofy).

With this proposal, the roller coaster climbs a considerable height and then descends in a series of curves that simulate airplane stunts.

It doesn't have any loops and no spins, but it's a pretty cool course and an interesting speed.

Slinky Dog Dash

Location: Toy Story Land, at Hollywood Studios

This is Disney's newest roller coaster to date. It was only opened in 2018 and is already a public success.

She is based on Slinky, the spring-loaded dog from the movie Toy Story.

One of its main attractions is that it is a roller coaster more focused on speed.

We don't have any loops or spins yet, but the Slinky Dog reaches interesting speeds.

One of the most exciting parts is when she stops midway, backs up a bit, and then sprints off at high speed for one last lap.

At the end, there is a quiet break for a short musical show.

Space mountain

Location: Tomorrowland, at Magic Kingdom

Remember when we said that every person who travels to Disney has a favorite roller coaster?

So, this one is one of the ones that wins the hearts of the crowd.

Space Mountain Roller Coaster - Magic Kingdom
Space Mountain Roller Coaster – Magic Kingdom

There is a simple reason for this: the Space mountain it's an indoor roller coaster, with its ride mostly in the dark.

Her narrative is that you're on a rocket heading into outer space, hence the darkness.

Although, to be honest, we noticed more lights the second time we went to Space Mountain than the first time (but maybe we had our eyes open this time xD).

Because it's all in the dark, Space Mountain is a sensory experience like no other.

And her speed is impressive too, providing plenty of adrenaline.

It's a unique roller coaster, no doubt about it!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Location: Frontierland, in the Magic Kingdom

Some roller coasters have it all. It is the case of this Big Thunder MountainRoad.

In it, passengers take a train at a treasure excavation mine.

The narrative is that the mine is haunted and therefore the train ends up “possessed” by ghosts and goes haywire.

The adventure is incredible: you go inside the mine (a fantastic Disney decoration), outside, up and down, even through a small town in the Wild West, all at high speed.

It doesn't have any loops or turns, but the ascents and descents are very intense and the speed is very good.

It is, without a doubt, a ride with a lot of adrenaline.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Location: Fantasyland, in the Magic Kingdom

Look, I'll be honest: adrenaline for adrenaline, Big Thunder is a more exciting roller coaster.

That said, however, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train holds a special place in the heart of anyone who grew up watching Snow White.

The roller coaster is themed around the Seven Dwarfs and takes guests to the mine where the dwarves work.

The tour has some sections that are very reminiscent, in terms of speed, adrenaline and even theme, the Big Thunder.

But it is in the “pauses” in the middle of the way that the roller coaster shines.

Well, it may seem contradictory, but it gets cooler in the moments with less speed.

That's because the cart gives a break so that we can watch the dwarves mining in a beautiful and bright setting.

Their music also plays at high volume and it's impossible not to sing along.

Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain

Location: Asian sector in Animal kingdom

OK. It was very difficult to choose our first places out of all the roller coasters in the Disney.

Expedition Everest could very well be number one.

The Everest Expedition also known as the Yeti roller coaster has it all: an incredible and immersive narrative, high speed and lots, lots of adrenaline.

The idea is that you are in the Himalayas on a train and need to escape the dangerous Yeti.

Therefore, the roller coaster takes visitors on a journey full of twists and a lot of speed.

I don't want to spoil the route too much (trust me, you'll want to face it all without knowing what to expect), but there are sections in the dark (at high speed), very high sections, all very well decorated and wonderful.

It's Disney at what it does best!

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster – Disney's Best Roller Coaster!

Location: Sunset Boulevard at Hollywood Studios.

As we said, Everest Expedition could be here in the first place without any problems. Just like the Rock'n'Roller Coaster it is.

The famous “Aerosmith roller coaster” surprises by delivering an absolutely incredible experience.

After all, how not to give first place to a roller coaster that starts with incredible acceleration and ends up in a loop and a spin? Can't, right?

This is Disney's fastest, busiest, and most adrenaline-fueled roller coaster. Without the slightest doubt! You will want to repeat the tour several times.

The Rock'n'Roller Coaster narrative is pretty cool too: you're the guest in Aerosmith's limousine and need to speed through Los Angeles to get there in time for their show.

As you can see, there is a Disney roller coaster for every type of visitor, from the calmest to those that provide the most extreme experiences.

Now it's your turn: what is the best Disney roller coaster in your opinion? Tell us!

  1. For me the best is the one of the guardians of the galaxy. It's not terrifying but it's just fantastic! Beautiful and exciting from start to finish.
