This guide with all the attractions of the Magic Kingdom where we will bring reviews of all these attractions.
If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney WorldYou need to know which attractions and rides are a must see and which rides you can probably skip.
Those who follow our blog know that we have already made a script of 1 day at Magic Kingdom. What can be a great addition to this post!
We know that planning for a trip to Disney can be extremely tiring.
Thinking about it we have our Custom Script service, with him we will build your script for you and with you! So you and your family will not stop doing anything. Just send us a contact on our form on the Custom Travel Script we will contact you.
Obviously, everyone's preferences vary (small children can't ride roller coasters, teenagers may not like kid´s rides.).
As such, we will also provide a brief description of each attraction so you have an idea of whether the attractions might be good for your family.
This should help you get an idea of which Magic Kingdom attractions are a must for you. So you can build your script as best you can.
If you are visiting Walt Disney World in early 2021, note that a lot is still changing or under construction.
We update this post regularly, so you'll always have a version of what's happening right now at Walt Disney World! =)
Also remember that this guide will cover only the Magic kingdom, which is the castle park at Walt Disney World. If you are looking for other parks, we also have some attraction guides here on the blog:
If you have children, you should also consult our full list of attractions with height requirements at Walt Disney World.
Several of Magic Kingdom's most popular attractions have height requirements; good to know which ones before book your FastPass +.
Popular attractions are popular for a reason, and most people don't need to know that they should try them. It is the other less popular attractions that complete a day at the park and experience the less popular attractions. It can make or break your day.
On our 2019 trip, Nath and I took almost a full day to do “secondary” attractions.
Obviously, we had fastPass+ in our MagicBands to our favorites and we went to them at the right times, but we managed to do practically all the attractions in the park in a single day and it was wonderful!
Of course, this varies a lot if it's your first time at Disney or if you go often. Everything is a matter of perspective.
If you only have 1 day to go to the Magic Kingdom, prioritize major shows and attractions to ensure a fantastic day!
A day at Magic Kingdom is about variety, and some less popular attractions are also exceptional.
You can spend all day waiting in lines to experience the “Magic Kingdom Mountains” several times because they are exciting. But if all that matters is emotion, you are not having a complete experience.
In addition, make some of the "sleeping" attractions means less time spent queuing, which is always an advantage.
We recommend that you have at least one full day to spend at Magic Kingdom, 2 full days being ideal.
You may have more or less time depending on the amount of purchased tickets and the Park Hopper option.
Now let's take a look at the best attractions in Magic Kingdom (and the "worst" too)…
Well, the first thing I have to say is that this list was extremely hard for me to do. That's because my favorite attractions change positions eventually.
By the way, this happens quite often, but seeing this as a good indicator means that even the attraction that is lowest in my row at the moment has been at the top and may be one of the attractions you will most enjoy doing in all of Magic Kingdom !
I bet you were looking forward to seeing the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train here first. But right now the darling of my heart is Splash Mountain!
Splash Mountain is a tree trunk tour that features a story from Disney's Song of the South and culminates in a massive fall in the bush.
Not only does it have that excitement, but it also has great scenes from Audio Animatronics-directed shows that make it a general winner and one of the best attractions in all of Walt Disney World.
The minimum height is 1,02m (3.34feet); The 27 meter (88 feet) drop is the only part of the "fear factor". We recommend going there by morning!
Of course, it can get you quite wet, so bring dry clothes or a towel to make sure you won't be wet after riding it.
If it's a little colder day, we recommend leaving the Coats or Jackets outside the ride (or in a bag) to keep them dry for the rest of your day at the park!
Perhaps another surprise attraction so top of the list. For me it's a classic of the classics!
The Haunted Mansion is a dark and slow ride that houses 999 happy haunts who are eager to meet you. No further explanation should be required.
At Haunted Mansion, ghosts are the most youthful and singing, so it shouldn't scare small children, but it's dark, so we recommend watching a video of this attraction before they take the kids. This is another attraction you can always do.
THE Space mountain it's a dark roller coaster in outer space. There are some cool themes here, an explosive tunnel and music to enhance the experience. It also has some interesting post-show scenes in space.
This roller coaster has a height requirement of 1.12m and is totally in the dark, so it can be relatively scary for children.
It is highly recommended that you use FastPass + or prioritize Space Mountain early in the morning or late at night.
THE Seven Dwarfs Mine Train it is the newest attraction of the Magic Kingdom and is one of the most popular in Walt Disney World.
This roller coaster ride hybrid has a height requirement of 97 cm, but it is very soft and should not bother those with light fears of height.
It is highly recommended to purchase FastPass + to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train if you can. Otherwise, do it early in the morning or get in line shortly before the park closes.
Although Seven Dwarfs Mine Train has a photo on the ride as shown above, Disney allows you to film these roller coasters. We always film and post on our youtube channel (and we can use it as a photo too, see photo below).
To film on these roller coasters, we recommend that you bring a GoPro for being small, easy to carry and with excellent quality.
One of the 3 mountains of Magic Kingdom! Big Thunder Mountain is a roller coaster themed uncontrolled mine train on a ride through the arid Wild West landscape.
Hold on to your hats and glasses, because the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is & #8220; the wildest ride in the desert! & #8221; Big Thunder Mountain is also a good attraction for a FastPass +.
And just like the Seven Dwarfs recommendation, it's another attraction you can film with your GoPro to have even more memories of your amazing day at Magic Kingdom!
This attraction is a boat ride through time until the days when pirates ruled the Caribbean. The attraction Pirates of the Caribbean includes Pirates of Audio Animatronics, including Captain Jack Sparrow, involved in stealthy chaos.
The tour now has a reimagined auction scene with a new redhead pirate.
The Pirates of the Caribbean ride as it is known in English is a lot of fun for visitors of all ages (darkness and gunfire can scare very young children).
It contains great details, tons of characters, catchy music. It is usually possible to do it with peace of mind without fastPass+.
But can be a good oportunity for fastPass+ on some days.
A 3D montage film mainly from “Disney Animation Renaissance”, skillfully linked to Donald Duck.
Children of the 90s certainly love this movie, but in fact, anyone should enjoy it.
It's one of the attractions I like the most, it's excellent for resting, enjoying a good movie, air conditioning and it doesn't usually have very intense queues as many people enter the theater.
The Buzz Lightyear asks for your help in an interactive and competitive attraction to save the universe in this adventure adventure.
It's like a complete video game and it's fun. Queues vary a lot for him and can be very long, but usually not so bad at the end of the day. Recommended for children who have fun.
I have no way not to mention, in the line of this attraction is possible to find the Buzz Lightyear which in my opinion is one of the most realistic animatronics of the park so far.
Now part of the new Fantasyland, there are two Dumbo spinners that have considerably reduced waiting times.
It's a classic and rite of passage for all kids, but thanks to new lighting and short waits, it's now a fun nighttime attraction for visitors of all ages. We do not recommend fastPass + to him.
The new Fantasyland Little Mermaid's dark ride is one of the most popular in the park, but like Winnie the Pooh's dark ride, it's not worth the long waiting times or using FastPass +.
There are some cool scenes and Audio Animatronics, and the line is really cool, this attraction just isn't higher on this list because of its long lines. If you can ride it with less than 30 minutes on hold, it will definitely be worth it.
The Peter Pan flight attracts some of the longest lines in the park and unless you use a FastPass + or arrive at the park opening (or skip in line before the park closes), consider skipping Peter Pan's flight.
It is iconic because it takes guests on flying ships & #8220; above London and Neverland, but it's so incredibly outdated that unless you have a serious nostalgia for her or young children who can buy a flight, there's a good chance it's a disappointment given the wait.
Honestly the best part of this attraction is the new interactive queue added last year, and this makes the wait more bearable.
It´sa Small World is the attraction iconic that characterizes the children of the world and this song. The lines here can be long, and it's good for visitors of all ages and it's a relaxing boat ride. Try this whenever you don't use FastPass +.
If you are in an adult-only group, it can be a bit tiring.
One stage & #8220; screen-based during which monsters interact and tell jokes to guests.
I believe the Laugh floor has great interaction and humor for guests, and that appeals to a wide range of audiences.
Children laugh at the "standard" jokes told by monsters, adults laugh at the interactions between monsters and children (and adults).
The jokes change with the audience; so if you really like it, do it again. You don't need fastPass + but you need to understand English relatively well to enjoy!
THE The Enchanted Tiki Room is a 15-minute musical serenade of birds by Audio Animatronics in a theater of the round.
You have probably heard these catchy songs before; The fun music of this attraction and its history make it an attraction not to be missed.
The theater is a little dark, but it should be good for kids. For adults-only groups it can be relatively boring, but it's also a good place to relax sitting in the air conditioning.
Don't waste fastPass+ on it!
Jungle Cruise is an Adventureland river boat trip that meets hippos, lions and piranhas, etc. along the way. It is noteworthy that no animal of attraction is for real.
The real highlight here is the uninterrupted zingers of the captains who steer the boats.
If you don't like dry, intentionally tacky or self-conscious humor, you may not like Jungle Cruise.
We have already seen several guests leaving Jungle Cruise with confused looks on their faces.
Of course, this depends a lot on your captain and obviously your level of understanding of English.
It's another one of those attractions that needs an update! We do not recommend using fastpass +.
There is no better way to close a day at Magic Kingdom than with fireworks.
The new fireworks show is the Happily Ever After, which replaced Wishes.
This is one of the best fireworks shows that Disney has ever done anywhere. That is, you can not miss this show!
We recommend seeing it on Main Street with the fireworks exploding behind Cinderella Castle.
Note that even now in 2021, Happily Ever After is still incredibly popular, and it is recommended that you choose a seat at least 30 minutes in advance.
A good news is that you can watch this show also from outside the park, including here on the blog we have a list of Best Places to Watch Happily Ever After Outside Magic Kingdom
It happens immediately before or after Happily Ever After (depending on park hours) also at Cinderella's Castle.
This show utilizes projection mapping, plus pyro, lasers, and fire, and features Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast telling bedtime stories to Chip. Along the way, they are drawn to the stories of several classic animated films such as Cinderella and Peter Pan.
This show has replaced Celebrate the Magic and is a good improvement over its predecessor.
Be sure to schedule the day as soon as you enter the park as it doesn't happen every night.
This is Magic Kingdom's first daytime parade.
It is ambitious and broad in scale and scope. The floats are all big, detailed and with a lot of substance. The float that caught everyone's attention is the malevolent car, and that's understandable because the dragon-shaped car spits fire!
Brave, Tangled, Peter Pan and Monster floats are equally well made. Add to that artists in costume with a lot of detail, a captivating soundtrack and a great energy, and you have a parade that is a true work of art.
This show debuted last year as atmospheric entertainment, but quickly became a show around which guests plan their visit to the Magic Kingdom. For good reason: This show is exceptional, featuring Muppets' quick thinking and incorporating real lessons from American history.
There are 2 different programs that rotate randomly, but usually the last two programs of the day are different from each other (we recommend watching these last two programs). This is the best new addition to Magic Kingdom in years, and it is an absolute must.
But as well as some other attractions that we already mentioned here in this list, you must understand English well to make the most of it!
Cinderella Castle's newest daytime show at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, which opened last summer.
It is similar to previous shows by "Smile and Dance" on the castle stage and undoubtedly a little better.
Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire sets aside the pretext of a plot and allows the show to exist only for the sake of existence, like a fun festival with Mickey and various dancing and singing characters.
The costume is also very good, and there are seasonal variations of the show, increasing your ability to re-watch.
We usually don't mention attractions that aren't open yet, but as this roller coaster is already operational in the Shanghai Disneyland we thought of including a brief synopsis.
This indoor roller coaster is defined as "The Grid" from the movies TRON. Think of the Roller Coaster Rock n´ Roller Coaster mixed with Space Mountain, but on TRON Lightcycles. It will be incredibly fun, but we don't recommend delaying your trip just for that.
Remembering that you can use 3 FastPass + per day (and get 1P38220; FastPass + bonus in the park after using your initial installment), which still leaves several attractions on your waiting list.
That's why getting there early is so important. In the first hour that Magic Kingdom is open, you can effectively experience queuing attractions.
Chances are you can make the most of attractions in this first hour alone.
The same goes for late evening, as queues begin to shrink about an hour before park closure, especially if closing hours are late.
The attractions listed below are the ones we recommend if you have time left.
But of course, there are also great attractions here!
A stage show featuring bears singing from Southern Animatronics, Country Bear Jamboree is an attraction that one usually loves or hates.
Country Bear Jamboree is a distinctive, crisp, irreverent show that most intelligent visitors (and kids) will enjoy.
Those who like irreverent and witty humor will like Country Bear Jamboree. Remembering that to make the most of it is necessary to understand English well!
Unfortunately the show was shortened a while ago, removing most of the jokes, but it's still a great choice!
Swivel ride similar to Dumbo. The elevated location makes this diversion fun, especially at night if the lines are shorter.
Despite being a silly #8220 attraction, we believe its view in itself is worth the ride.
This attraction is here because it is a slow and hopeless ride that offers beautiful views of Tomorrowland, pure and simple.
It's worth a good rest, and for most people, that's it.
If you are looking for an attraction that is a more immersive experience, go elsewhere. We love her, but we are not the average eheh.
Note that it passes through Space Mountain, so part is in the dark, which can scare children.
It's better at night when Tomorrowland's neon is lit.
An elaborate meeting of characters (for lack of a better term) in Nova Fantasyland, the attraction of this ride it really depends on the guests. Everyone (probably) will be impressed with the technology used in it, but only small children and their parents will likely appreciate the real experience.
In addition to a very personal encounter with Bela, she features 2 surreal animatronics that are the beast's castle wardrobe and Lumiere!
Consider doing it quite early or late at night.
Fun and iconic fun, although there's really nothing more to this experience than a crazy cup
A kids-only roller coaster that wants to prove themselves on a roller coaster but is too small for other roller coasters.
Everyone else should avoid this due to long waits, short duration and dull looks. It has a height requirement of 89 cm.
A dark ride, but there is a good chance that kids will have more fun playing in line than on the actual ride.
This is a popular attraction, but it's not worth waiting too long or using FastPass +.
Do this at the beginning or end of the day when the lines are short.
Common carousel. Fine at night, if there's no waiting and you have time to kill.
One more spinner. Just like Astro Orbiter or Dumbo.
A relaxing train ride through Magic Kingdom, though not much to see. Need some dinosaurs (isn't everything?).
NOTE: The Walt Disney World Railroad is currently not operating during the construction of the TRON Lightcycle Power Run. It is expected to reopen by 2021 (the COVID-19 pandemic has considerably hindered its reopening).
Children may like it as it gives them a chance to drive; Except for that, it's not really a good attraction.
A relaxing way to float in Frontierland, but just like the PeopleMover from Tomorrowland or the Walt Disney World Railroad, it's just an environment tour.
Fun area that can be explored quickly as a nice change of pace from rides. There are no lines.
An entire island play area for children dating back to a past area. It is very well done and is a great place for kids to spend energy. Adults can also enjoy the tranquility of the island. It doesn't look like a theme park.
An audio and animation show featuring scenes from different eras featuring technological innovations. This is one of those attractions that a lot of people don't like, but I love it at Magic Kingdom, so it hurts me to put it so low on the list.
The last scene is outdated and the Carousel of Progress is unlikely to please ordinary guests & #8211; although older guests probably enjoy the memory trip.
The reason she is here is because it is an attraction with a lot of English dialogue and it takes 20 minutes to finish so it is very long.
Hall of Presidents is a theatrical performance featuring Audio-Animatronics from all US Presidents, plus a video of & #8220; preamble & #8221 ;.
It is a powerful and educational attraction. This will make you feel less guilty about taking your kids off school for a trip to Disney! 😉
But again, you need to understand English well!
Well, on this list we left out random entertainment shows and character encounters and some other seasonal offerings, but it should cover all of Magic Kingdom park's attractions.
If you have time, try as much as you can, as you will probably disagree with at least some of these attractions.

Many people leave to buy their tickets arriving in Orlando or even on the day of the park.
We do not in any way recommend that you do this for a variety of reasons, such as:
If you buy tickets on time, you will not be able to book your Disney FastPass + in advance.
You will not be able to schedule your park days as required at the time of a pandemic.
You will lose valuable minutes of park in line to buy your tickets.
AND MAINLY, you will pay more because tickets at the box office are more expensive than buying in advance!
So be sure to secure your tickets! Use the discount coupon PDP when purchasing your tickets on the Uncle Orlando Travel.
