The Cheetah hunt is one of Busch Gardens' most popular roller coasters.
On this post
The attraction simulates a cheetah hunting prey. As it is considered the fastest animal in the world, the speed of the Cheetah Hunt can reach 100 kilometers per hour.
Remember that Busch Gardens is in Tampa, Florida. Leaving Orlando, you can get there in about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
This park was initially designed to be a zoo. Over time, attractions were added. In particular, large roller coasters, very characteristic of the Busch gardens.
Busch Gardens has an African safari theme. In addition, the park is one of the most sought after by those who enjoy rollercoaster!
Nothing better than showing the course of a roller coaster as well as describing it, right?
We already showed how this roller coaster is on our youtube channel a few times, so be sure to like it there:
Features of Cheetah Hunt
Despite the high speed, this roller coaster it doesn't have many elements (loopings, snake roll, corkscrew, etc.), like the others at Busch Gardens.
The focus is literally on the speed at which the cheetah goes after its prey. In this way, the cart simulates the animal. In all, he fires three ?shots? of speed.
These ?shots? occur at the following times:
- At the time of departure, where the speed is 50 kilometers per hour;
- In a second time, in which the speed is the extreme of the attraction: 100 kilometers per hour, uphill;
- The third push reaches 70 kilometers per hour, also uphill.
What differentiates this roller coaster from others are the two moments in which the speed increases in ascents. On the contrary, most similar attractions are fast in the moments of descent.
However, on the Cheetah Hunt, the speed is also quite high during the descents. The total duration of the route is just over 1 minute.
The minimum height to enter the attraction is 48 inches. For us Brazilians, this measurement is equivalent to 1.20 meters.
Therefore, children aged around 8 years old can also go on the Cheetah Hunt attraction.

How is the Cheetah Hunt queue?
Because it is an attraction that delights those who like adrenaline, Cheetah Hunt has queues that can reach 1 hour and a half!
However, the good news is that the roller coaster has the Quick Queue!
If you don't know what that means, that name is nothing more than the ticket that skips the queues at Busch Gardens parks, SeaWorld and Aquatica.
Quick Queue works similarly to FastPass +, from Disney, It's from Universal Express, Universal Studios and Island of Adventures.
Is it worth using Quick Queue on this roller coaster?
Yes for sure!
Mainly because Cheetah Hunt queues are long. Despite that, going to this attraction is really worth it!
Busch Gardens is famous for its roller coasters and, unfortunately, does not have a single rider to speed up the wait.
Therefore, your only ally to speed up the queue time is the Quick Queue. Some Busch Gardens attractions accept this special ticket, such as Cheetah Hunt.
Stay tuned! Because, unlike Fastpass+ and Universal Express, Quick Queue has 3 modes:
- Quick Queue: you can skip the line at attractions that accept the ticket only once;
- Quick Queue Unlimited: you can skip the queue of attractions that accept the ticket as many times as you want;
- Quick Queue Junior: you can skip the queue at children's attractions that accept the ticket only once. He is not accepted on extreme roller coasters, as is the case with Cheetah Hunt.
Quick Queue can be purchased both online and directly at the ticket offices of the parks that use it.k
How is the attraction route?

Right at the beginning, in a few seconds, the cart already gives its first ?shot?. So, you already take off at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour and go through an underground tunnel.
Then, leaving there, the cheetah already gives his second "shot", causing the cart to go up at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. This is Cheetah Hunt's highest speed moment!
The feeling is that you will fly to the sky. The adrenaline at that moment is very high!
Still at a very high speed, the cheetah will follow its path, also passing through some underground tunnels.
The third 'shot', which reaches 70 kilometers per hour, also occurs on a hill and, likewise, the adrenaline level is extremely high!
A few seconds later, the ride on the Cheetah Hunt comes to an end, and then, you might be able to breathe again!!!

Get your Parks Tickets at a Discount
Many people leave to buy their tickets when they arrive in Orlando or even on park day.
We absolutely do not recommend that you do this for a number of reasons, such as:
If you buy tickets on the spot, you won't be able to book your park days in advance at the risk of not even being able to enter a park on a given day.
You will lose valuable park minutes in line to buy your tickets.
AND MOSTLY, you will pay more because tickets at the box office are more expensive than buying in advance!
