Cheetah Hunt: Busch Gardens attraction

THE Cheetah hunt is one of the most popular roller coasters in Busch Gardens.

The attraction simulates a cheetah hunting for prey. As the fastest animal in the world, Cheetah Hunt's speed can reach 100 kilometers per hour.

Remember that Busch Gardens is in Tampa, Florida. Leaving Orlando, you can get there in about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

This park was initially designed to be a zoo. Over time, attractions have been added. In particular, large roller coasters, very characteristic of the Busch gardens.

Busch Gardens has a theme that refers to African safaris. In addition, the park is one of the most sought after by those who like rollercoaster!

Nothing better than showing the route of a roller coaster besides describing it, right?

We've already shown you what this roller coaster looks like on our youtube channel a few times, so be sure to enjoy it there:

Cheetah Hunt Features

Despite the high speed, this roller coaster it doesn't have many elements (loopings, cobra roll, corkscrew, etc.), like the others at Busch Gardens.

The focus is literally on the speed at which the cheetah goes after its prey. Thus, the cart simulates the animal. Altogether, he gives three speed “shots”.

These “shots” occur at the following moments:

  • At the time of departure, where the speed is 50 kilometers per hour;
  • In a second step, in which the speed is the extreme of the attraction: 100 kilometers per hour, in an uphill;
  • The third impulse arrives at 70 kilometers per hour, also uphill.

What differentiates this roller coaster from others are the two moments when the speed increases when going uphill. On the contrary, most similar attractions are fast at times of descent.

However, at Cheetah Hunt, the speed is also quite high during the descents. The total duration of the journey is just over 1 minute.

The minimum height to enter the attraction is 48 inches. For us Brazilians, this measure is equivalent to 1.20 meters.

Therefore, children around 8 years old can also go to the Cheetah Hunt attraction.

How is the Cheetah Hunt queue?

As an attraction that delights those who like adrenaline, Cheetah Hunt has queues that can reach 1 hour and a half!

However, the good news is that the roller coaster has the Quick Queue!

If you don’t know what that means, that name is nothing but the ticket that skips the lines at Busch Gardens parks, SeaWorld and Aquatica.

Quick Queue works similarly to FastPass +, from Disney, It's from Universal Express, Universal Studios and Island of Adventures.

Is it worth using Quick Queue on this roller coaster?

Yes for sure!

Mainly because the lines at Cheetah Hunt are long. Despite that, going on this attraction is really worth it!

Busch Gardens is famous for its roller coasters and, unfortunately, does not have a single rider to speed up the wait.

Therefore, your only ally to expedite queuing time is Quick Queue. Some Busch Gardens attractions accept this special ticket, such as Cheetah Hunt.

Stay tuned! Because, unlike Fastpass+ and Universal Express, Quick Queue has 3 modes:

  • Quick Queue: you can skip the queue of attractions that accept the ticket only once;
  • Quick Queue Unlimited: you can skip the queue of attractions that accept the ticket as many times as you want;
  • Quick Queue Junior: you can skip the queue of children's attractions that accept the ticket only once. It is not accepted on extreme roller coasters, as is the case with Cheetah Hunt.

Quick Queue can be purchased both online and directly at the ticket offices of the parks that use it.k

How is the route of the attraction?

Right at the beginning, in a few seconds, the cart already gives its first “shot”. So, you already take off at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour and pass through an underground tunnel.

Then, leaving there, the cheetah already makes its second “shot”, causing the cart to climb at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. This is Cheetah Hunt's fastest moment!

The feeling is that you will fly to the sky. The adrenaline at that moment is very high!

Even at a very high speed, the cheetah will go its way, also passing through some underground tunnels.

The third “shot”, which reaches 70 kilometers per hour, also occurs on an uphill climb and, likewise, the adrenaline level is extremely high!

A few seconds later, the tour at Cheetah Hunt ends and, yes, maybe you will breathe again !!!

Get your Parks Tickets at a Discount

Many people leave to buy their tickets arriving in Orlando or even on the day of the park.

We do not in any way recommend that you do this for a variety of reasons, such as:

If you buy tickets on the spot, you won't be able to book your park days in advance at the risk of not even being able to enter a park on a given day.

You will lose valuable park minutes in line to buy your tickets.

AND MAINLY, you will pay more because tickets at the box office are more expensive than buying in advance!
