An important update from SeaWorld's CEO

The CEO of the Sea World group sent an email addressed to his customers regarding the current situation of the parks due to the impact of COVID-19.

”For decades, parks in the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens invite guests to experience the wonders of the world and the animals we share. As our world has changed forever, and is still changing, following the COVID-19 pandemic, I am writing to you today for an update on what we are doing to help animals in our care, our communities and our park. guests during this challenging period.

As you may know, on March 16, we closed all 12 of our parks. It was a difficult decision, but it was the right one. In the next few days, we were forced to grant 95% from our workforce. More than difficult, this was an excruciating decision. We hope to be able to revert in the coming weeks and months. Until then, we are working on three important fronts to do our part and help bring a return to normal.

For the animals in our care

At the moment, our team of dedicated and passionate zoological experts is meeting the needs of the animals in our care. They ensure that animals continue their daily routines and ensure that their health and diet needs are met to maintain the highest level of well-being and well-being. While there are no visitors to our parks to experience these magnificent animals, our team of talented animal care specialists continues to fill your days with behavioral learning, social stimulation and exercise. Our team's commitment to animals is admirable at the best of times; in a crisis, it is extraordinary.

We also added precautions for animals and our employees, such as a new temperature screening procedure for employees before entering parks and the use of personal protective equipment, including masks and gloves, when interacting with certain animals.

For our communities

In the communities we serve and beyond, SeaWorld's Animal Rescue Team continues critical animal rescue work, helping animals that need us 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the few weeks since our parks closed, we have rescued dozens of animals, including: four manatees, seven sea lions and seven elephant seals.

In addition, like many companies that remain closed but feel compelled to help in any way they can, we have identified other ways to serve our communities. We immediately donate food from our parks to food banks. We also donate supplies, such as paper items and masks, to local authorities and community health organizations that serve first responders. We carry out a blood unit in one of our parks and encourage our employees to donate as well and donate the use of our parking lots to health systems for COVID testing. We will be happy to do it again and continue to look for ways to help.

For parents and educators, amid school closings and shelter requests, we have created new educational sites for SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, with 15 sets of comprehensive elementary and high school activities, videos and guides for teachers - all developed by our zoologists. As you may have seen, we are adding new lessons each week and will broadcast live videos of the animals in their habitats. Caring for animals is an important part of our mission; educating and inspiring the public about them is an equally important part. We are very proud of how our teams came together to help ensure that we can continue to do so.

For our guests

We know that for many families, future vacation plans are uncertain or are changing. While our parks are temporarily closed, we are committed to providing guests with the flexibility they need right now.

We are automatically extending all active annual passes and products to SeaWorld and Busch Gardens for the period of time that the parks remain closed. Domestic one-day tickets and all unused multi-day tickets that expire during temporary closings will be extended until December 31, 2021. Internationally purchased expired one-day and multi-day tickets will be automatically extended until the first week of 2022 to provide our guests with additional flexibility abroad. And experiences at the park during temporary closings can also be rescheduled until December 31, 2021. We also offer discounted tickets for use when our parks reopen and will announce new benefits for all active pass members in the coming days.

We want to welcome you back to our parks as soon as possible. We also want you to be safe.

We are monitoring this evolving situation for COVID-19 closely and in coordination with public health authorities to ensure openness in a safe and responsible manner. We will continue to keep you updated and look forward to receiving our valued visitors back to our parks soon.
