The Kraken Unleashed unites, in a single attraction, two passions of those who visit Orlando: the roller coaster and the simulator.

The attraction's name was inspired by a folk legend. According to what she tells, Kraken was a marine being, similar to a squid, that lived in the north of the Atlantic Ocean.
Located at Sea World Orlando, the attraction is a roller coaster.
The moment you sit in the stroller, you put on a virtual reality (VR) goggle, which simulates the seabed.
So, you live an adventure in the depths of the sea, as if you were in a submarine. The idea of the attraction is that you run away from the Kraken Unleashed monster.
The addition of VR's to Kraken Unleashed took place in 2017. Before, this attraction had the same route, but without any gold stimulus.
Features of Kraken Unleashed
The roller coaster Kraken is complete! That way there are loops, inversions, corckscrew, snake roll, etc. The speed can reach 105 kilometers per hour!
In addition, Kraken Unleashed has several moments of ?submersion?. I mean, they look like this through virtual reality goggles.
However, looking from the outside, they are underground passages, in tunnels. In all, the journey takes about 2.5 minutes.
Remember that you must measure at least 1.37 meters to enjoy this attraction.
Virtual reality (VR) glasses
** It's worth mentioning that the Roller Coaster Virtual Reality is currently disabled and we don't know if it will return!
This is the most attention-grabbing element in Kraken Unleashed.
The moment you enter the cart, put on the virtual reality glasses. This add-on will be attached to that safety vest of each seat.
Rest assured, the VR's do not detach from your face. This mishap was thought through and, as such, the virtual reality glasses are fixed to the seat vests.
In front of your chest, there will be a black box. It corresponds to the location where the RVs are stored. In addition, this box is a kind of controller for each of the virtual reality glasses.
Through the VRs, you simulate being in a submarine, which will be launched at the bottom of the sea.
In addition to seeing, you can also hear the sounds made by water and marine animals, including the Kraken. This sensation is possible thanks to the headphones present in the attraction.
The simulator gives a very real impression, especially when maneuvers are performed.
This is because the Kraken Unleashed's movements are fully synchronized with the VR footage. Cool huh?!
It is important to note that both the use of virtual reality glasses and headphones is not mandatory. You can choose not to use them.
However, I can assure you that the feeling of virtual reality at Kraken Unleashed is the great differentiator of this attraction.
How is the Kraken Unleashed queue?
The environment where you wait in line to board Kraken Unleashed takes you to the bottom of the sea. More precisely, in a cave environment.
You can hear sounds that look like water and sea monsters. Really, it's scary!
Also, the rocks in this cave are very realistic.
You can also watch televisions with some information about Kraken Unleashed.
However, even with all the distractions, the queue time is long.
This is because Kraken Unleashed is well sought after by Sea World visitors.
The time is long, too, due to the hygiene of the virtual reality glasses: they are all sterilized after use. Only after cleaning can they be used by others.
Unfortunately, this attraction does not have the Quick Queue, let alone with the single rider.
Attraction route
Once you settle into the Kraken Unleashed stroller seats, the VR goggles are adjusted by park employees.
The simulation is very synchronized with the path the cart travels. Therefore, at no time will you feel lost in relation to what you see and what you feel.
At first, the observed image corresponds to a submarine launch pad. That way, you will feel the drop of your means of transport in the water.
For those who are not using VR, this moment corresponds to the first descent of the roller coaster.
From there, you will be able to observe various marine animals and accompany some of them.
The elements of Kraken Unleashed, especially the rapid descents, are seen in the image as if it were a submersion in the depths of the sea.
At all times, you'll feel like you're running from the Kraken. Therefore, loops and all other elements felt on the tracks are simulated by the submarine.
